Procharger install

How hard is the install on the procharger?
I'd like to do it myself if possible. I cannot find a shop around me that charges less than 1,500.

1200 to 1500 is not a bad price. Why dont you contact them and ask for a copy of the instructions. Considering how new the 6th gen is, and that finding a person who has one on their car, is not going to be as common as it would be if it was a 5th gen.

That being said, normally a centrifugal supercharger kit is easier than a PD blower.

Procharger install is something you can just do in your garage over the weekend, which is another reason why people go for it. It is an average 8 hour install. Granted, the very first time you do it... Probably 20 hour install lol. Procharger install guide that comes with the product is also pretty great, they have it on their website as PDF as well AND you can call em up for tech support which they are more than happy to help.

As for 1500 install, that's actually an insanely good deal. On average, you will be looking at 6.5k (unit) + 4k to get it installed. Without any deals or hook ups. 9.5-10.5k is the average cost of procharger/roots supercharger installs.

I was told by the shop it is a 11-14 hour install and they charge 110 an hour for labor.
1- I don't believe professionals need 14hrs to install the unit.
2- 110 for labor seems high to me for the work being done.
If I can get them down to 1k I'll have them do it otherwise I'll
1-install it myself- which is love to do but would be pissed if I hurt my 50k car.
2-not do it until I find a better price.

6.5k
I've seen the procharger kit going for under 5.5k

You're in so-cal. labor is gonna be inflated compared to what you'll hear for labor in other places.

If i could get a V6 SC for around 5k and do the install myself that would be ideal...then go get it tuned.

Your in So-Cal, can you get a CARB approved kit?
If not, this also might cause difficulty when finding an installer.

Edelbrock E-Force Superchargers are CARB approved.

Kind of hard to swallow that the eforce adds around 225hp. Do you know how much boost it runs?
The procharger is significantly less expensive and that's why I'm looking at it.
The shop I spoke of doesn't care about the approval.

I'm a little confused

Edelbrock claims 580 at the wheel but also says it increases hp by 140. Since when does this car make 440 at the wheels?what am I missing?

Don't really trust the numbers for any parts from vendors that are MAKING those parts, even if they aren't really take it with a grain of salt lol. Wait till people actually get it done on their car and shops do the tuning/dyno on it to give you a better idea. Also, ALWAYS ask for the dyno day parameters. Octane, humidity, heat index, what dyno (dynojet or mustang)?

I can tell you procharger did give almost 150 rwhp / 100 rwtq increase all by itself (no headers, no internal engine mods, nothing) on 93 octane AND mustang dyno which reads a lot less than dynojet since it takes road conditions to account and with different cars, not just one.

+1

Soon you will be able to just search the forum, to see what others are running for power. There will be multiple people some with the same setups, and some different, just like the LS3's or you could just head over to the corvette forums.
