Does the turbo 4 require premium gas?

Thanks!

Being a previous 4cyl turbo owner for 10 years I can say without a doubt YES! Don't even think about putting less than 93 in it!

Rule 1 of turbo cars. Don't run cheap low octane fuel
Rule 2. See rule 1

If you do run low octane fuel, stay out of boost.

I have the same 2.0 T in my 2015 Malibu, and this is what the manual states.

If the vehicle has the 2.0L L4 turbo
engine, use premium unleaded
gasoline meeting ASTM
specification D4814 with a posted
octane rating of 91 or higher.
Regular unleaded gasoline rated at
87 octane or higher can be used,
but acceleration and fuel economy
will be reduced, and an audible
knocking noise may be heard. If this
occurs, use a gasoline rated at
91 octane or higher as soon as
possible. Otherwise, the engine
could be damaged
