Hey how's it going guys, just purchased a new 2016 Corvette Stingray Z51 and am definitely going to need a radar detector haha. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which one works best, and whether or not hard wiring one will void your warranty? Thanks!

There are a couple that run escort hardwire kit like myself and others are doing the mirrortap with blendmount setup.

I use a Max360 with blendmount (Che #007 same as your c7) but don't use the mirrortap.

Most common is blendmount + mirrortap. And no, it will not void your warranty.

Go with an Escort and you'll never go wrong. They're pricey, but go with one that has Escort Live built in so that you'll have live updates when other Escort owners pick up a smokey! There are company that sell plug taps (one end plugs into the detector connector and the other end has pins that plug into the pins of a harness plug (you just need to find the wires for switched power and ground).

Buy an Escort Max & use Waze on your phone. You can't go wrong with this combo.

I am a Blendmount + Mirror Tap person...Escort Passport Max 2. Hoping to upgrade to the 360 at some point, just need to get around to selling teh Passport.

Once you do, it will sell FAST! I didn't even post mine up my 9500ix for sale, just told my buddy that I decided to get the 360 and 5 minutes later it was sold lol. Since new detectors are a decent chunk of change, used ones people just jump onto!

Nothing wrong with Blendmount + Mirror tap. it's a more clean setup. I don't like auto mute and want to do it manually so hardwire with mute button is for me haha.

Alright! I have made the jump to the 360!!!

I put it up for sale if anyone's interested.

Looking forward to the arrows to give me just a little more of an idea of what's around me. On my commute, I drive along a river. On the other side, is a Police Department facility and every now and then I get a KA alert on my detector but pass zero patrol cars (not like they hide in the brush). I have decided that someone is leaving their radar on in their car at the facility. The arrows will likely tell me this since it will be on the left or right depending on which way I'm headed.

Also, the place they store all the Speed Limit aka "tell you how fast you're going" emplacements is near my office so I will know if it is detecting those are an actual cop.

In California they actually patrol by air and have radar on their airplanes and helicopters

That's wild...I wonder if the cost is worth it. Can't imagine flying an airplane or a helicopter just to shoot for speeding tickets would be worth it. But maybe if they have a high enough output it would be.

I think even if being shot from the air, the detector would go off. Probably more than you'd like.
