I'm in auto shop for my sophmore year() and my teacher dosn't like cars (is that possibile?) but anyway he says that as soon, hance the word soon, as you have drained all the oil in the oil pan that you should take a air compraser nozzle to where you put the oil into and gentlely aply presser to the handle sending air though the system. Have you even heard of this method or is my teacher pulling strings

oh by the way he also says that there are FIVE types of fires or classes:
Class A: combustiable matrials: wood, paper, hair, clothes stuff like that
Class B: combustiable liquids: but the liquid itself doesn't burn right?
Class C: combustiable Gas: the fumes from the gas, propone and such
Class D: Combustiable metals: magnisam (bad spelling i know)
Side story:get out your for and prepare to do this :
we where being teached about the above (look up) and he says that rust on metal is mircoscopitc fires on the metal, WHAT! is this ture as in an example or is he i don't know how to say it end of side story
Class E: electical fires: when the eletical circits "brust" it starts a class A fire
we (me and zhawk) checked on OHSA and thats only for the UK

im taking auto tech my this year also (senior year)

i thought once u have drained all the oil u put the oil bolt/plug back on and put new oil in,

my class works on small 4cycle one cylinder lawn mower engines

Some people do it that way...i would advise against it unless your air compressor has a water separator

but there's still oil in it zhawk always semi turns the engine to get the oil out is that even right?

Im a desiel mechanic and we never do that. in my schooling this is not even an idea. get the oil, put new in. with that method you may risk getting water into the oil-which is naughty. draining the system completly of oil is a bad manuever-it has to hide in small places so on the new intial startup you are risking any metal on metal contact such as in the rings/valves ect. a small drop here and there of old oil is now going to ruin a complete crankcase of new oil.

hm i have been taught to not run the engine until the new oil is in

. i cant remember what i did the last time i changed my oil.

Zhawk is his father & works on Aircraft engines & Yes I have been taught that you can turn the engine over with out it running (just cycle the key a few times)

i just remembered just now last time i changed my oil i ran my car with no oil in it for like 10 seconds, to get the rest of the oil out
