I called onstar and setuop my data package, but I cannot get pandora to play.

Will pandora play through the cars data package?

yes in a way. You have to connect your phone to the cars wifi and connect an iPhone to a usb cable or android via bluetooth, then the pandora icon will launch the pandora app on your phone.

Mine works but I have to launch pandora on phone itself.

When I hit the Pandora icon on the infotainment screen it automatically opens the app on my phone and starts to play. Galaxy S6 Edge.

Here's the way it works in my car...my personal mobile is an Android. Work mobile is an iPhone. So, I use both AA and CP. They both function about the same way, in that, to use the Pandora app on the phone by clicking on the icon on the infotainment center screen, the phone MUST be plugged into the USB port in the center console. I keep one of each type of cable plugged in and just grab the one I need. I can listen to Pandora via Bluetooth with either phone, but not by using the icon on the infotainment screen and not if plugged in to the usb port in the center console. I can, however use an adapter in the power adapter port if I want to charge while on Bluetooth. My preference is AA, because Google maps is superior to Apple maps (IMO), and Waze will only come to AA.

Why would you want to use OnStar's limited data (which costs a boat load after the trial) vs the much cheaper data from your cell carrier?
