For those of you with the M6

Have you noticed that the car is easier to drive in Tour mode? I just started to drive stick when I got the car (about 9 days ago) and noticed that everything seems smoother in Tour. I was keeping it in Sport and am having a hard time being smooth on the throttle from a standstill.

The only thing that changes between Tour and Sport that might affect the driving characteristic of your car is the steering calibration, stiffer suspension, and NPP. Maybe?

I will double check this but I believe that the throttle is more aggressive too.

Towards the bottom. Looks like the throttle progression does change but it is the same between tour and sport. Must be in my head.

I've actually noticed this as well but told myself I was being silly because according to the chart the only thing that should change for me is the steering.

BUT! When I'm in sport mode the exhaust sounds just a tiny hair louder (Like I'm pushing the gas further), and it's harder to shift through the lower gears smoothly and accelerate smoothly. Even though they say it doesn't affect the throttle curve I think it does. Or maybe it affects the timing or something.

I have a M6 V6 1LT.

My brother swore up and down that he thought he felt the suspension get stiffer in my car when he put it in competition mode. I had to lift the car up to prove to him they're DSSV dampers, and not Mag Ride.

Our minds are powerful...

Exactly! Same feelings with my M6 SS

That's pretty funny. It's true! The power of our minds is truly amazing. I think it might have to do with the louder exhaust in sport mode that makes me think I am giving it more than I really am.

I bet the fly by wire throttle response is dialed back. Probably easier to modulate.

I wonder what the chances are that there is a sport mode for throttle progression that just wasn't labeled properly in this material. Maybe someone copied Normal over to this table position and forgot to relabel it as sport. Throttle mapping would be easy to tune. I don't see why they couldn't have 4 settings instead of 3.

I suppose it is a possibility although I doubt it. I've never been in track mode from a standstill so I'll try that and see how different it feels.

rev match makes the biggest difference in the feel of the gearbox. not only for down-shifts but very much so for up-shifts as well

I don't care what the manual says or any charts either!!! It is different between tour and sport mode as far as the throttle response and shifting!! That was the first thing I noticed!! And continue to notice! You're not crazy op... Just observant!
