2016 Chevrolet Camaro Recall

Does your Camaro give you a seatbelt warning?
My 2SS does not.

Enter your VIN there and it will tell you if your car has a recall or not.

Thank Ssport13 for reminding me that lol.

Misleading title. Probably a software update will come out to fix the seat belt reminder.

Actually funny thing, with little research on the matter. There is a recall.

#15808A: F/CMVSS Noncompliance - No Key In Reminder Chime and/or No Audio - (Mar 1, 2016) - General Motors has decided that certain 2016 model year Chevrolet Camaro, Malibu, and Silverado and GMC Sierra vehicles have a radio that may not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 114, “Theft protection and rollaway prevention” and/or FMVSS 208 “Occupant crash protection.” Radio software in these vehicles may intermittently fail to provide an audio warning when a key is left in the ignition and the driver door is opened, or when the driver forgets to put on their seat belt. If the key reminder chime fails to alert the driver, there is increased risk of theft. If (a) the driver fails to fasten his or her seat belt, (b) the seat belt reminder chime fails to alert the driver that he or she is unbelted and (c) a crash occurs, the driver is at an increased risk of injury.

If (a) the driver fails to fasten his or her seat belt, (b) the seat belt reminder chime fails to alert the driver that he or she is unbelted and (c) a crash occurs, then GM is at an increased risk of a lawsuit.
Fixed

Important to keep this in perspective… News reports are this affects 137 cars of all GM that's the Silverado , Camaro etc. etc. 137 total ,so not really that big of a deal

After i checked today mine doesn't warn with any chime either. Just blinking light, at least for the drivers side. Checked the GM recall site but nothing came up for my car.

Super irritating, it's the truth. Maybe you can't handle the truth!

I read this on Camaro News, and my 2SS is affected. It's not a big deal, no reason to get excited.
