The Numbers are in... (First Auto cross day)w/Video
We had the first event this weekend it was only 60 + degrees... A really warm day in February in Indiana, So everyone from states around showed up. We had 106 cars total. I had have not had time to prep may car for the season yet so I took my 16 2ss, on factory rubber with factory alignment and kicked some butt. I was still upset about getting rid of my 1LE until my first run.... After that I realized I had made the right decision.
I was 8th overall but that being said I ran a 51.9 and the #3 Nationals ranked SS/XP Lotus took 1st overall with a 47.8 it was on A7 Slicks and no interior fully race prepped. So I can tell you the car felt like it was gliding through the cones instead of being so abrupt like the 1LE was. I was not impressed with the breaks I regret not getting the 6 piston. the breaks felt softer I may be able to fix that with pads... You do have to remember this car is 100% STOCK... Some re71s and 19" wheels would put me in the game, add some Hawks and and Alignment and WOW... I cant wait... Anyhow here is the Video. (PS. I think the noise you hear on the video is the passenger seat belt smacking around) https://youtu.be/AkE7VGE0-as

Lovely sound!! Yum.
--kC (Do you know what the term "late" is when slaloming? Most of those offsets and slaloms, you were late and playing catchup. Get on the backside of them cones, and the time will drop like flies!) |

Jason Proksch, the other FS competitor who was driving his 135i but normally drives a E46 M3 (1.1 sec. ahead) is both a friend and good barometer. He brought that car to the last event of the year in Rantoul. Getting the correct wheel/tire set will go a long way toward finding out where you stand.

I think for the first time ever I may be able to feel competitive. I may even have a shot at him with the right wheel and tire setup, I loved how the new car drove. Jason had had a 51.4 I think, but he had rivels, and to be fair he ran a 49.9 but had 3 cones. On that run so he probably had more speed. I have always felt behind in the 1LE, and Jason even ran a few laps in the 1LE at nationals. Just saying I feel like a camaro, has a decent shot. The other really good time that day was Kevin Kent in the m4 (AS) he ran a 49 something I think...sorry all times are from memory I'll look them up later and correct them if needed. My point was add a set of 19 in wheels, re71 tires, some hawk brakes and a good alignment, and that should get me a few seconds. Then learning the car and cleaning up the driving another 3/4 of a second hopefully it will put me in the hunt this year. SEE YA OUT THERE

Wait you got 8th overall raw or PAX? Pretty great to see that the 6th gen will be a force in FS.
I'll probably be running stock wheels/rubber this year to run them out and then sell the wheels during the winter for a proper 19" setup.

I remember you well. Loved the look of your old car, although the new one is sharp as well. Our first event of the year with CCSCC is at Rantoul is the weekend of March 19-20, 2016. Our first and last events of the year always draw around 100 drivers and the price is very competitive as we tend to draw from Indy, Chicago, and St. Louis regions. Devin Taylor (4th at Nat's), I and a few others will likely be there if you want to get a good measuring stick. The link to our website is here http://ccsportscarclub.org/autocross/schedule/
Here is the pax results from the last event from 2015 where Jason showed up in his 135i. http://ccsportscarclub.org/files/200...acecar_pax.htm The top 10 guys all have won trophies at Nat'ls. Jason landed at 24th on pax and 4th in class in the same 135i. He has another LSB E46 M3 he'll be running for FS this year. |

I just ran my 2016 1SS this weekend. I was helping out at a StartingLine school and took the opportunity to sneak in a few runs. It's the first time the car has ever been on course, bone stock. It was pouring rain most of the afternoon and was extremely slippery.

Thank you guys for the vids, that looks pretty damn amazing especially for a STOCK car!!! Just imagine changing it up just a little bit! I do agree about the brakes and I haven't even done anything competitive yet. Even for spirited driving I find them to be very very soft. If you get close to having the ABS kick in, it's fantastic but those are more of an OH SHIT moments. I will be upgrading my 4 piston to the 6 piston when I decide to grab a new set of wheels / tires which will be towards the end of the year. I am glad you said that you find them soft. I come from DBA 4000 slotted with Racing Brake ET500 and brembos so am used to being able to TRUST my brakes FULLY.
