Nagging Traffic Interuptions

One thing I have not figured out yet is how to turn off the nagging audio traffic notifications, like "narrow lanes ahead..".

I do have a 2SS with Nav and I looked through the manual and didn't find anything (not that the manual tells you much about the nav system anyways...).

Any idea?

I wanna say it's in one of the DIC menus. I remember something about audio prompts. But that may just turn off all audio prompts, not just the annoying one you speak of.

I should have mentioned that I am not actively using the nav system when this happens, it happens consistently all the time (i.e. every day when I get to the same street on my drive to work, it chimes in with the "narrow lanes ahead" message).

I have the same problem. Turning off the prompts is only for voice. Do you have the traffic service from XM? I think this is coming from the traffic service not the navigation.

Hmm, not sure. If I have it, it's not something that I am aware of. I did just now turn off the voice prompts in the Nav settings. I'll find out when I drive to work if it changed anything.

you need to go into settings on the radio and go under navigation and turn off the voice prompts for traffic. The voice off in the DIC is only for the turn left or right and such. I will look later on the exact process but i know it is in the setting menu on the radio itself.

Yes, the voice prompts that I turned off after I got home today was through the radio, so hopefully that will do it.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for tomorrow isn't too good so I will probably have to wait a day or two to find out if it worked. Thanks

I wish I had my Camaro I would double check. I found settings in the navigation menu to disable traffic and construction warnings or something to that effect. It seemed to stop those annoying announcements.
