Tried Glen's Method....Results are fabulous!!
I tried detailing my car using Glen's docs.
Dawn dish washing liquid wash followed by BF hand polish and the two coats of BF crystal seal. The whole process was easy and rewarding. This is my first car ever and my first try at detailing...... Thanks Glen! Here are few pics!

excellent, looks great!
and from now on, it takes 15 -20 min every 3-6 months for another coat of crystal seal.......sooo easy..I'd rather be driving than buffing.... |

Arrrg. You guys and your good weather.
I've done the rinseless twice though. Both times great results, though the second time I think I got a little too much soap in the mix. Glen, I saw your post on how it'll streak if you do and went "aha!".

I did it as well...bought all the recommended products, and then did the wash, sponge "clay" bar, polish, and crystal seal. Car looked amazing.
Two things that I wish I had an easy fix for: 1) Brake dust on the SS is horrible. I don't really feel like getting some solution and washing the wheels off after every drive, but thats what it would take to keep the wheels clean. I'm about to the point where I'd install lesser performing brake pads just to get rid of the dust. Up until this point...just been wiping them clean manually. 2) I think its just the time of the year, but just going to work, and leaving my car sit, results in a layer of dust on the car when I get home, and when the sun hits it, its just crazy how much there is. Yeah its a very light layer, but the amount of build up that you can see under certain light really surprises me. This is the major reason why I wanted to get a polish/seal done in the first place. Where I work is just a concrete lot, some grass and some trees, and other buildings with more concrete lots. No dust lots near me causing excess dust. I have a California car duster, but I'm sure Glen would slap me silly for using that on the car. Is there any good solution aside from having to wash the car clean? I don't have the time for that. I figured polish/sealing the car would protect it from my car duster lol. This coming from someone that really does enjoy cleaning my car, but I have a lack of time compared to when I owned my 5th gen, which was in fantastic condition when I sold it last year. My Camaro is a sunny day only car.

California duster's are fine, if you use them to dust , and not to clean. I have one. I buy new one annually.

I think you'll be fine, I just don't want to spend on sonax weekly. The wheel cleaner up Above work will work fine, then sonax occaisionally. If the brake dust is killing you you should replace the pads with something that I'm sure you can find here....
The brake dust will come off a lot easier with a hose and quick agitation by using the Hydro2 In my other thread here about cleaning the wheels. |
