Picked up my 2SS, but sales guy scared the crap out of me…
Received the call from the dealer last night that my car arrived. Salesman sent me these pics this morning. After work, I went to pick her up and the salesman immediately told me there was an issue with the car. Absolutely had me upset thinking that I waited all this time and something would keep me from getting the car today.
Turned out that the factory included two driver side “LPO, White knee bolsters” instead of one driver and one passenger. They left the black one installed on the passenger side until the other one can be shipped (apparently, its backordered too). It was definitely a relief to know it wasn’t something more serious, but the sales guy sure had me worried when he first told me there was a problem. First impression of the car, is wow! I can already see its going to be a rough 1500 miles during the break-in period as its soooo tempting to get after it! How are the rest of you dealing with that? My sales guy told me that as an added benefit to the 2-year maint free program, that I would receive another oil change free after I put my first 500 miles on the car. I know that many others have recommended an oil change after the first 1000, but I thought that was a pretty cool extra provided by this dealer. Anyway, I’ll take better pictures tomorrow and post them as soon as I can. Also, for anyone who is interested, here is the deal I struck…seems decent: 2SS Hyper Blue/Ceramic white A8 NPP MRC Sunroof Nav Black Wheels MSRP - $49k College discount - $2k Private Offer - $1k GM Card - $500 + $3000 bonus $42,500 + Tax, etc.

Congrats!!
What exactly is the $3000 bonus from your GM card? As for break in, when I get mine, im gonna hammer it. Played the break in game with my 2010 and it made less hp/tq than everyone I knew that drove it how they wanted to.

The consensus on my motorcycle break in is 'drive it like you stole it'. I didn't do that and I think the motor suffers a bit by being babied. When I get my C6 I'll make sure to wind it up a bit and not just drone around. Drone is bad from what I read.
Anyway, are those the white or silver stripes? She's a beauty - congrats! I too am very interested in the GM card question. |

Congrats and a good deal. I qualify for GM employee pricing so there is no haggling over the price.

Congrats, looks good! You're going to get a mixed response to the old break in question. I think it can be different depending on how you plan on using it and how long you plan on keeping it. If it's you're DD then I would say follow the breakin as best you can, basically just drive it like normal and don't use the cruise control and remember you are breaking in a CAR not just an engine. If you're going to be doing any track or racing at all then I would say it is less important as you will most lickely be doing a lot of mods and work on the car as time goes by anyway. Ether way it's you're car treat it the way you feel is best and enjoy it.

Each stripe is TOO wide and looks odd. Stripes are supposed to be narrow and not taking up the whole hood.

Congrats.
Drive it a little hard during break in but just don't hammer it 100% of the time and she will break in just nicely.

I personally like the width of the stripes. There is no rule about how wide they're supposed to be. Get what you like. |
