How much would the 2017 1le go for?

Based on what? The SS already has the same transmission as the 5th gen 1LE. That alone should drop the price, unless GM adds other performance parts, like upgraded brakes. That's if they even build a 1LE package again.

I would expect bracing from the convertible for added rigidity ($750), 6 pot front brakes ($2k from factory), upgraded suspension ($500), Hi-Po wheels ($500) possibly the CAI from factory ($350), possibly a slightly larger rear end ($500), possibly tweaked body panels ($1000), possibly 1LE livery ($1000). (all prices are guesstimates based on an LPO price knocked down due to economy of scale...also its late and Im too tired to do the research, feel free to flame me XD) I would not be incredibly surprised to see them bring the Z/28 nameplate to a much more reasonable price point (I think someone said that was a goal, that $75k was too much, and theyd rather give a little less car for a lot less money) and replace the 1LE option. With the CAI, some increased stiffness, and upgraded suspension geometry, I could see a stock car spank a GT350, and be close to a 350R for a much lower price. |

With the options we have on the Gen6 SS... would they even offer a 1LE package? I think it would make more sense to introduce a new model to the lineup for the sake of sales, free marketing, etc.
Doesn't have to be ridiculously priced. Just enough to stomp the Mustang again and there will be buyers. Just my thoughts although I'm not completely familiar with the Gen5 1LE package. There's obviously something in the works, but maybe more than a 1LE package. Just don't see the need with the current car unless it was an extremely profitable option for GM on the Gen5. Just add a "Z" model to compete with the GT350.

GM is going to release a new ZL1 model for the sixth gen for sure. If they release a new z/28 its going to be at a reasonable price like Waiting46 said. Dealers were taking at least 55k for a brand new 2014-2015 z/28 that was just taking up space in the showroom.

It sold very well for the 5th gen, and there needs to be some sort of option package to get rid of the run flat tires, and adds a true performance tire. Personally, I don't want, or feel a higher end 1LE package is needed, just a more simple one. Say, $3000-$4000, and give it wider wheels with stickier non run flats, upgraded struts and shocks, thicker sway bars, some of the convertibles bracing, a bump in gearing to 3:90 or so, a front splitter and different spoiler, maybe a suede steering wheel and some badging, and call it a day. |

True, but the Z06 (excluding the C2 ones) only came out in 2001, the first 1LE was in 1985. The 1LE was created for a specific racing series originally called the Players Challenge if I recall. An automatic wouldn't have worked for that and they have stuck with that formula. But modern automatics are much better, and I could see them maybe adding the option to open up more sales. But who knows, I just want the 1LE option to come back regardless...
