Thumbs up Procharger's 2016 2SS test car just arrived

For those interested in bolting on a supercharger to your new LT1...

https://www.procharger.com/blog/bran...bout-get-blown

As always, be very cautious bolting on a power adder to a stock 2SS. A better long term option would be to wait for the HP model sure to come out next year. It will have more appropriate internals and drive train to handle 650+ hp. I'm just sayin'

Because the current 'Vette engine can't handle boost

I am really hoping yall can design this kit as "easy to install" as you did for the C7.

Oh you know they will. Most likely move the intake out the way (you really got to lol or no room haha) and slap it down there in that room.

Yes, yes it has. 2SS, A8, MRC, NPP and the 6-piston Brembos. First '16 that I'd seen in person and everything that I expected it would be.

So you're saying there is no reason to worry about the internals of the stock LT1 or 2SS drive train when considering bolting on a SC or T? Seems like Chevy could have saved a lot of money by not bothering to put together the LT4 if the LT1 is just as dependable boosted. Some one should call them before they make the same mistake with the new ZL1/Z28 or whatever they decide to call it....

Sarcasm aside, I'm just suggesting people think about the whole drive train when boosting their new cars.

550-600 rwhp was roughly the accepted safe limit of the 5th Gen's LS and driveline. Much past that on the stock setup and the possibility of hurting things was real and you're on your own if you did. Of course the LSA with its upgraded internals and better head castings is a better platform to start from. GM needed to beef things up if they were going to offer a 60-100k warranty on the platform. Same goes for the transmission and rear end. The LT1s in the C7 have fallen roughly into the same range on their base driveline and the Gen 6 Camaro should follow suit. The LT4, as the uplevel motor, is again a considerable upgrade in the long block and handles some insane boost in the C7 Z06.

Thanks for chiming in LOBBS. Curious, any idea how much boost an LT4 can take? When I look at the LT4 block compared to something like a Dart it just looks so.... Lightly built. Just not a lot of material there.

This Z06 Vette was one of our first beta cars. It was running 22 lbs and meth when it broke the 1000 RWHP mark.

I got a chance to watch her make several pulls on our dyno when it was fitted with a P-1SC getting the kit finished up.
