Venting

Alright, I need to vent to you guys. Flame me all you want for my opinion on this whole process, but I need to get this off of my chest, even though GM executives wouldn't give a **** about my opinion.

This whole process has been a disaster in my opinion. I ordered on August 22nd, and my order was accepted immediately. My car was produced on October 20th, and was at 3800 status for 5.5 weeks (quality checks). But what is pissing me off is the fact that myself, and those who ordered even before me, haven't received our cars yet, whereas Bob Smith could run over to a dealer 9 miles away from mine and buy one of their 6 Gens today. Without waiting. Same with those who had their vehicles produced in November and have received them already. Seriously, what the hell?? And finally, my car was invoiced and supposedly "in transit" on November 25th. It's now December 7th. My dealer called the shipping center and was told that my car is on a carrier and was awaiting a full load (that was on Dec. 1st). You can't tell me that it takes 6 days to fill a carrier and drive it 4 hours south. No way.

After this "experience", I am 100% sure that I will never order another GM vehicle again. Great product, terrible service. My dealer has had no information whatsoever, and therefore they haven't been able to give me any information. I've talked to people who've ordered from other companies such as Ford, and they've had lots of info, including ETAs.

Thanks for listening to me vent.

I right there with ya! I ordered mine on July 24th and built 10/14! Who knows how it long it will sit, been sitting in the same spot for a long time now, and to boot had a nasty Chevy chat agent, I was not at all nasty to her this morning...I closed out of the chat, I really should have asked to speak to her supervisor. I might be a PITA keeps asking but I am always courteous!

I would recommend checking out nearby dealers to see if one matches ur config and straight away get that.. its been an unfortunate turn of events.. but you can either to do that or cancel and re-order (which I dont know might help)

Are we to the point where these threads can be closed? There are already two threads for this in this forum. I really don't think we need to fill this forum with multiple frustration threads.

I'm in the same boat as you guys...10/12 tpw. No car yet and no idea when it will show. It IS frustrating for sure, and I've done my share of hunting down for information, and poking Chevrolet Customer Care. I am on here all the time just waiting for good news.

But I am not yet angry or at the point of venting. I realize when I ordered this car that I didn't honestly expect it to show up until mid to late November. The optimist in me thought "maybe early November?". So with that in mind, my car is really only running around 2 weeks later than I expected at this point. So I don't find that horrible considering 1) we all knew our early builds were going to be held 2 or 3 weeks longer than normal 2) there are QC issues to be fixed.

Now...if another few weeks go by....if 2016 comes and goes and my car is not yet delivered my level of "venting" may be much higher lol.

What hurts the most...and what I think would benefit all of us is that if GM could really just say something to the effect of "We expect 10/5 TPW cars to be delivered by xx date. We expect 10/12 TPW cars to be delivered by xx date"...and so on and so forth. OR maybe that's too difficult? (guessing the QC cars are flying into the "fix em up" lots randomly. Maybe at least just say "We expect all October builds to ship by xx date". Is that possible? Sure would be nice.

I just REALLY hope they start moving soon. If this was Spring or Summer I'm not sure I'd care as much as I do. But its basically winter, and I would just really love to drive my car a few nice days before the snows hit around here. We've had such fantastic weather....and no Camaro to drive in it. *sad face* lol

One last note:

This is not just something that affects GM built vehicles. Just as one example, there are/were plenty of GT350 early adopters that have it worse with no ETA.

Well, I see no reason to close this thread. Just because another member has expressed similar concerns does not mean anyone has lost the right to expression.

It is true some launches go like this one and other go smooth. It is a roll of the dice how a launch will progress, which is why it is good for people to gain (endure) the experience.

GM could do a better job of communicating and maybe this forum and these threads will help movement in that direction. I for one certainly hope so.

Closed...not sure about, but could be combined with the frustration thread perhaps.

Bumped a few more...Maybe instead of closing them, these threads should have their own separate forum...There might be enough to justify it. Too bad for those tired of seeing them...but it's about the most current topic currently going on...

There haven't been any complaints about a new and separate thread for anyone who has gotten theirs in, or those that drove one, or made a review, or taken pics...All new threads for that. No harm in multiple threads for waiting on their cars, either...

I belong to a buick enclave forum and GM customer service pops up daily there making sure everything is ok with customers. They have a one on one team. I was impressed with that part of it. I think someone from GM should do the same thing, especially this forum is 10X bigger than the enclave forum..

No, we're not. Especially not when the delay is the biggest thing going on in the roll-out of the car.
