Mishimoto 2016 Camaro SS Development/Review Thread: Intake Pre-Sale Live!

Hello Everyone!

You may or may not recognize the name Mishimoto, so we would like to take the time to introduce ourselves! We are very pleased to be involved with this fantastic community and look forward to developing new products for the 2016 Camaro and interacting with everyone on the forum! Our goal is to obtain feedback from the people that live and breathe these cars to develop awesome products that you guys want/need. If you have an idea or a need for component you would like to see us develop, feel free to shoot us a PM, we are always interested in new ideas or sharing information.

Here is some basic information about Mishimoto, and what we do here!

Traditionally speaking, we are well known as a company that manufactures aluminum radiators. This was the case early on in our history, however the company has grown and branched out to a ton of new vehicles as well as a great deal of new product lines. Initially we catered heavily towards the sport compact world. These days, we develop products for diesel trucks (from the big 3), European vehicles, Domestic hot hatches, and we just launched a massive line of cooling components for classic American vehicles. Too long we’ve been out of the modern muscle world. We’ve worked on some components for the Mustang, however our lineup of parts for GM V8-powered models is quite slim. That’s about to change, because we are buying a 2016 Camaro SS for our next shop vehicle!

Our headquarters is located in New Castle, Delaware, which is where our engineers spend a substantial amount of time researching, developing, test fitting, and collecting data to create the absolute best products to take your vehicle to the next level. Despite the differences between our sport compact customers and the domestic world, one thing remains the same, and this is our enthusiasm and passion for your vehicles. Whatever you drive or ride, Mishimoto wants to be a part of your experience and provide high quality and efficient cooling solutions so you can enjoy your vehicle to the fullest.

Now, more on our facility. Our engineers utilize a 27,000 sq. ft. garage coupled to a very modern office. These headquarters encompass our production, engineering, marketing, operations, and customer service teams! We have a full fabrication shop and utilize both a Dynojet and Dynapack for product testing. We will be posting a ton of images during product development, many of which will give you a look at the awesome space we are working with.

So what’s the point of this thread?

Well, the first goal was to bring awareness to the fact that we are here and we intend to produce some really cool products for you guys. In addition, we also plan to put together a series of videos highlighting some of the neat components we find on the new 2016 model. This will include driving impressions, insight into new features/components, and any other information you would like to see. Feel free to make recommendations.

We’ve been highlighting our R&D project development for various components for quite some time now, all of which can be found on our engineering blog. These are the types of articles/coverage you can expect from us on a very regular basis.

This post will also serve as a directory of links to each of projects going on, as well as links to each new video we put up.

We are working on picking up our shop vehicle within the next week or so. Our next update will include images of our new ride and some initial feedback from our team of drooling car enthusiasts.

Never would've I have thought seeing Mishimoto on a camaro forum haha (I come from evo's so I am familiar with Mishimoto thanks to my wrx/sti buddies). I guess with Ford and Chevy both going with t4 vehicles changed up the game quite a bit. Looking forward to see what you guys will be coming up with

Awesome! I'm glad Mishimoto will be modding the Camaro. I've never owned the type of cars you guys work on but I looked at all of your YouTube videos when I was considering the new WRX. I decided on my 5th gen instead. Will you guys be doing similar videos on YouTube like you did with the WRX?

Very nice! Yes, our plan is to put together a series of review videos for the new SS, very similar to our WRX coverage, but likely better. We had a good time putting them together and it seemed like the forum folks enjoyed the short videos.

Anything you would like to see covered in our series?

Thanks Nick! An ST and an SS? Sounds like a nice fleet.

Our SS has been loaded up on a transporter and is on it's way to our facility.

We are expecting it's arrival next week. As soon as it rolls in we will snap some additional pictures/video, including some baseline dyno data.

Thanks
