Chrysler ignition switches now...
Weird. I wonder if it's somehow possible that ALL ignition switches on ALL cars could somehow be shut the car off while being driven? Maybe all cars, at least those made from 1920 through well into the distant future, need to be recalled.
NHTSA probing Chrysler ignition problems 2006 Jeep Grand CherokeeJeep The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Wednesday it has opened two new investigations into Chrysler over complaints that the ignition key could shut the engine off involuntarily and may cause air bags not to deploy in a crash. The investigations cover about 1.2 million Chrysler vehicles. The agency started looking into problems with air bag deployments after similar ignition switch problems in General Motors Co. vehicles. GM has recalled 2.6 million vehicles cars with defective ignition switches. GM links the defective switches to at least 13 deaths. NHTSA said it has received at least 32 complaints from Chrysler drivers who reported that the ignition switch of their 2006-2007 Jeep Commander and 2005-2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles turned off after they accidentally hit it with their knees. The second investigation is related to Chrysler's 2011 voluntary recall of 2010 Dodge Journey, Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country vehicles for a similar issue. Some owners said they still had the problem even after the recall fix was made. NHTSA said it also received complaints from owners of 2008-2009 models who said they may have the same ignition switch problem as the 2010 models. NHTSA said there have been no reports of injuries or deaths related to the Chrysler investigation. In a statement, Chrysler of Auburn Hills, Michigan, said it is awaiting more information from NHTSA and "is prepared to cooperate fully with the investigation." Advertisement |

My Chrysler is push start
Anyway, my knee goes no where next to my keys in the Camaro.. I would have to have a girl sitting on my lap and her knee would have to hit the keys

I have seen more problems with Chrysler PDM"s making cars quit than I have ignition switches.

^c5...maybe you are onto something. Maybe it isn't the driver's knees that are being reported as the ones hitting the ignition switch.

Looks like every car built in the past 10 to 15 years that has a big fob with a key in it might be recalled lol

Oh shit, I just drove my car into a pole because I "accidentally" steered it there.
This is beyond ridiculous. It is just idiots taking advantage of the way GM has handled their recall on the Camaro. They figure maybe they can get something out of it. And they might, because this is all part of the "age of zero personal accountability". |
