Lawyer up if they don't make it right, then go get a Ram or a Ford. I'm not brand loyal at all, but I have never been fond of GMs truck so I'm biased to anything that's not a GM truck lol...anyways it sucks man, big time! I bet the dealership will make it right though. You said they were easy to work with on the purchase, so let's hope they are easy to work with on this issue. Sometimes there are just lemons, it happens. Have them get you a different truck, and then enjoy it and never look back! Good luck man I hope it all works out for you.

Cancel the deal and get your two cars back. It can be done!

Give them a chance to figure out what is wrong before you go too crazy, then if they fail you can contact the BBB or look into a lemon law suit. I have a 14 Silverado and it has been flawless.

Your statute of limitations on reversing a "bad deal" may be up by now.

Don't go get a Ram or a Ford, you'll just be disappointed in the end. I've never met anyone that didn't rue getting rid of their GM truck for another brand. There may be some, but not norm in my experience.

Sucks about the door, but in about 4 years, it won't bother you as much, IF they can easily find and fix the no-start issue.

Good luck.

There is no "statute of limitations". Once you have signed all of the paperwork and accept possession of the vehicle, the dealer has absolutely zero obligation to do anything from that point, unless expressly put into writing before the paperwork is signed.

Many people mistakenly believe there is a three-day rescind option. That just isn't true.

You traded two great cars for one with trouble. I hope you have another vehicle for transportation because the non-start issue is a headache to worry about.

But It can be done. If what was delivered is not what was promised, you have ground to stand on. The dealer already has two strikes against them.

Hear what's up...

Trade my Camaro and Sonic for a 2014 Silverado double cab Z71 on Monday afternoon (1/27).

Great guys and nice dealership that didn't take to much of an advantage of me trading 2 for 1.

They were to deliver truck to my house Monday night while I was at work and meet my wife and take both cars.

My wife and picked out truck on Saturday and I finalized all paper work and made deal on Monday.

When they brought truck over Monday night the salesmen said they scratched it and he would advise Tuesday morning when we could get to body shop.

OK shit happens, move on right?

Monday night when I get home I want to sit in heated seats and play with entertainment center and just gloat in my own glory. Truck will not start...

After numerous turns of key finally starts right up. Wife takes truck to work in the morning and at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday calls me and says truck won't start. She flags down her friend leaving work to get a ride and tries one more time and truck starts right up.

Called GM customer service line Wed. morning at 8:00 a.m and they said they will contact service manager at my dealership and have him call me. I said I am taking truck to dealership at 9:00 a.m and I want something to drive with heated seats and runs. They obliged and said they would contact when ready.

Now after thinking this through do I really want a $44k TRUCK that has 30 miles on it with a scratch all the way to the bare metal in the middle of the drivers door and has not started twice out of three times we wanted to use it?

I left message on GM customer service line after calling 3 times and getting my contacts voice mail each time. Called my dealer today and said I want another truck just like the one we bought with no scratch and starts. He said he would talk with sales manager and advise in AM Friday.

Where do I go from here if things go south and they will not give me another new truck? Lawyer up now or press the issue myself?
Sincere apologies to hear about the new vehicle concerns. I definitely understand your displeasure and saw that you've already contacted our GM customer service phone agents regarding these matters. Keep us posted on this situation and don't hesitate to contact me privately if you have additional questions.

Kind regards,

William R.

seriously?!?!
he has a problem with his new truck and you guys are already considering Lemon lawing (which cannot happen since the dealership has not even looked at it), or getting his two other cars back? Wow!

Op, if it does it consistently, then let the dealership fix it. Not a big deal. Maybe there is a loose connection somewhere or a bad part. GM makes great trucks. You just seem to have gotten one with an issue......and a scratch.

Depending on the scratch, I may have told them I want a different truck and not racked up any miles. I'm pretty picky when it's new, leasing my 1LE has helped not care. Not a good way to start when purchasing something so expensive.

Surprised they delivered it with a scratch. Should have offered to get their body shop to make it right which can be done.

As for the no start, let them fix it.

I'm more concerned on the "oh, sorry about the scratch, here is your new truck" deal. That should have been a phone call before ever delivered with an offer to repair for you before you ever took delivery.

Shitty dealer. MAKE them fix the scratch since they caused it. The starting problem can usually be rectified by just resetting the computer first.
