Subaru WRX Concept Coming To New York
Whether an accidental slip-up by someone in the know or a long-lead publication accidentally sharing pictures before they go to print, automakers go through combating leaks of their new cars every auto show season. The latest in this saga is Subaru, whose WRX Concept just had its beans spilled all over the internet two days in advance of its New York reveal. We’ve known for some time that the next Subaru WRX would branch from its humble Impreza origins into its own rally-bred four-door sports car. These pictures of the WRX Concept indicate that this car will be more aggressive, with all the garish scoops and intakes all over its front that we’ve come to love. The back does without the traditional oversized WRX wing, however. With sharp angles and massively flared wheel arches, the Subaru WRX Concept is reminiscent of the Prodrive P2 rally car concept that borrowed liberally from the Subaru parts bin; the two companies have had a good relationship in motorsports. In the past, we’ve seen Subaru testing the current-generation Impreza with WRX parts on it, likely focusing on engine development. Power could come from a 2.0-liter flat-4 shared with the 2014 Subaru Forester that is likely to make in excess of 270 horsepower; a 1.6-liter engine is also a possibility in that such an engine size is required for World Rally Championship racing. Once again, power will be routed to all four wheels. Otherwise, outside of the obvious concept touches–the headlights, tail lights, and mirrors–this car looks like it has a possibility of making it to production without too many changes. We’ll know more about the Subaru WRX Concept later this week, and we should see the production-ready Subaru WRX by the end of the year, likely at the Tokyo Motor Show in November. |

Read this early on yahoo news. I like it, for a Subaru it looks good. Now, if I'm not mistaken this is a concept, wonder what the production version might look like.

It really is one hell of a ride. For people who live in the north who have to deal with old man winter but want to drive a sports all year round this should be on the top of your list.

I actually like it! Generally I'm not a subi fan.
The blue is pretty sharp.

I'm not honestly. Even though a lot of us are muscle car type people i do appreciate a fun driving car.

I like all types of cars myself, while I prefer having a Camaro there are a lot of cars and trucks I'd own if money were no problem. And a WRX would be a cool one to add,I hope it looks close to the concept shown it is bada**
