New owner
Hi everyone I am new here thought I would introduce myself. I am Alex and I am fortunate to say that I got myself a camaro. I have been reading through the forums primarily because of my worry about my camaro and the Chicago winter weather. But I thought I take the next step register and say hi.
I got the 2013 Camaro 1Lt manual transmission and all black. Just to say I love it. I also included a pic of it. |

Hi Alex, welcome to the forum. I absolutely love my car. Don't worry about winter driving as long as you go to tirerack and get a set of winter tires, preferably as a wheel/tire set. Use 18" wheels as you will have more choices and pay a lot less. mine were around $850 for a set. Well worth it. What is undrivable in the snow with the standard tires becomes very manageable with proper winter tires (NOT all season tires). I survived 2 winters so far with no ooops and no rust and a TON of fun when you turn the traction control off and have some fun!!

As far as the winter tires I have been looking at a few on tirerack just need a to get my next two paychecks before I pull the trigger. Seems everyone in my family was born in December so I have to buy gifts. Lucky black Friday is almost here! :-) |

Welcome Alex! As a fellow Chicago Camaro owner, I'll tell you I've not had any issues in my Camaro in the winter. My 1LT came with the 19" wheels and Pirelli all weather tires, and they were just fine. Nice that you have a the manual as you can keep your rpm's really low, and you'll have no issues. Welcome to Camaro5!
