I just finished my carbon fiber case last night. Haven't found a case yet I really like, I'm waiting on lifeproof. So to kill some time waiting, I made this:









Then I took a close up pic and used it as my background





I posted this because I know some of you guys share the same love I have for the look of carbon fiber. I'm using it today at work and I have a couple people wanting me to make them one lol

I've dropped my phone in an NGP rubberized case from waist height onto a cement driveway. Not a scratch. So I'm guessing this provides a similar level of protection. As long as something doesn't directly impact the screen, most cases hold up in a 3-4 foot fall.

Well I just dropped it for you to check and it held up fine. Just kidding! Lol. Anyway, I've seen numerous ip5 drop tests with the phone bare and it fares well. I feel confident it will be ok in a drop as long as it doesn't land on the screen. The sides stick up maybe .010 past the screen in case it falls flat or on the corner. It's also more comfortable to hold as I made it rounded and gives it more grip. Overall, I really like it......especially the looks. Btw, it is real carbon fiber....not a wrap. It did start life out as a cheapie plastic case, sanded thin and wrapped in real cf.

I bought the roll of carbon fiber and then bought the resin/Hardener seperately off eBay.

I bought this stuff well over a year ago, sorry. I make carbon things from time to time.

Looks good! I dropped my iphone5 first day an it only made a dent in the chrome trim piece thank goodness. I now have a speck case on it.

I hear they are pretty tough screen wise. The aluminum is soft tho. I think this case will protect it good enough. Plus it looks cool as hell

Oh i knew it was real carbon fiber from the pics it just seemed that it only offered a more scratch resistent than a drop protection and yes an Iphone is well built from factory i tend to drop my phone and it lands on corners never flat for some reason. It does look good though.

Well cf scratches kinda easily but it buff out easier than paint. So I can touch it up from time to time with some compound and polish. I also put a cost of wax on it. Doesn't finger print as easily.


Edit. I get what your saying now lol. I think it would offer decent drop protection and excellent scratch protection.

This is now for sale if anyone wants it. $20 shipped in the us. I have a lifeproof case now. And to answer the question above: I've dropped it several times and hasn't hurt the phone or case. It will be polished up to as new looks before shipping.
