Where to get the power for lights?

Im wanting to put some red led lights in the engine bay to shine on my chrome headers but I don't know where would be the best place to get the power from?

Battery terminal you have on drivers side engine area. Then run a switch if you want to turn them off and on.

+1 and you can get normally closed pressure switch to mount under the hood. So when you open your hood, the lights come on without you having to hit a switch. Radioshack may have some that look sorta like this:

Just be sure it's normally closed, so when it's pressed it opens and turns off the circuit.
Oh and a friend of mine got some pretty bright LED strips from Autozone (you can find them cheaper on eBay though).

Another place to get a switch possibly for free is go to a local alarm or car stereo place and get the hood pin switch from a DEI alarm. Most places dont install these anymore because the cars wiring system has one built in the OBD2

Thanks for the info and I had thought of the same thing about a pressure switch that would be mounted under the hood so the lights are not on all the times.
