center console question

does anyone know what these buttons are for in the picture circled in red...i know the traction control button is near the four pack gagues anyone know?Name:  untitled.JPG

They're not buttons. It's markings that tell you the gear pattern.

When I blew-up the pic you can see it is the shift pattern. Reverse far left and up like the old 4 speeds. R 1 3 5

Sweet - its a good place for a shift pattern. I hate when they put it on the ball - if you swap the knob and then a buddy borrows the car, what happens if he hits reverse thinking its first (while stopped) and creams your car?

As a rule most console cars print shift pattern on the console. Non-console cars print the shift pattern on the shifter ball.

Must not be an SS. The SS pattern has reverse top right.

Well, I've only owned three cars, and only two were manual. My 86 IROC had the pattern printed on the console, my Hyundai is on the shifter. I liked the console one better.
