I would go with a full synthetic oil... if the dealership doesn't have full synth I would consider going else where...

I went with Amsoil. I think its well worth the money to go synthetic.

Whatever they've got in the bulk tanks at the dealership will do the trick. Change it when you're supposed to, and you'll be fine.

BTW... I would change your oil ever 3,000 miles (assuming regular oil) and don't go by what the DIC tells you... after 3,000 miles you'll find your oil is horrible looking... I run full synthetic and change mine a lot sooner then the DIC says to... especially if I've been to the track at all...

The manual says to use only DEXOS certified oil. I spent quite a while in the auto parts store looking for any oil cerified DEXOS only to come up empty. Seems like either the oil companies are resisting yet another certification standard, or the bottles of oil on the shelf are older than the standard.

Here you go:

http://www.pennzoil.com/#/motor-oil/pennzoil-platinum

It's a standard GM has outlined for 2011 and beyond vehicles. It basically means, buy expensive oil and your car will run better and last longer.

Haven't had my oil changed yet but I've always gone to Pennzoil for my other vehicles and will be using their platinum full synthetic in my Camaro. This happens to be GM dexos1 approved too in the SAE 5W-30 our car requires.

I just got done changing mine. 2000 miles. Looked reasonably good. Sure is a little filter....used Ac 2129. Discount Auto Parts had it for &.99. I am a huge Amsoil believer so in went the Amsoil. Any good oil is fine but synthetic is better across the board. Less friction = less heat = less wear.
