LT4 O_o
Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster... anyway let me get right to the point
I found a Red '97 SS for $12,500, at first I didn't think it was anything special, needed a little body work... not much, just a little... inside was pretty clean, that needed a little work too though. Then... I noticed something... it was one of only 100 camaros to have an LT4 put in it.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_LT_engine#LT4 Nice find eh? I don't plan on buying it though :-/ I'm only 16 and my dad already bought me a car... he'd slap me if I asked for another.. lol |

You should sell your car and go for that if it's pretty easy to touch up. Owning a car that only had 100 made will be worth ALOT sometime in the future. That pllus it's fun to drive being a camaro and all.

does the owner know this? If you'r not planning on buying it, you may want to do him a favor and tell him - He may not be so apt to sell if it's true...
Oh, and Welcome!

Welcome to the site, Shadow.
Depending on miles and actual work to be performed on the ext/int, I'd say that might be on the nose. I'd look into it, find out the true value, then factor in the damage, etc. Owning a one of 100 is, IMO, something special and I would think it would be of greater value. I think he's probably got that factored in the price, though. Got any pix of it? I just noticed...you've been a member since April, but this is your fist post?!?!?! What's up! Nope, I don't have any pics, but I'm going to try and get some... it has a nasty crack from the left front wheel well all the way back to the SS emblem...
I don't think it actually has an owner at the moment.. it on this classic car consignment lot.... kind of like a park n sell type thing, but its been up there for almost a year. I just decided to take a look at it this passed weekend. And about the whole post thing >.> I should probly get my flame suit for this one.... I'm more active on the mustang forums because thats what I currently drive... it was the most current muscle car around....so I got one Rest assured though.... I WILL have a 5th gen.... Red with black racing stripes..ls3....black leather with red stiching... I should just stop there before I start to drool.... lol

More than likely it's a fake. All LT4 Camaros from SLP were the 30th ann. cars. White with orange strips....

Mustang owner or other, if you have an interest in the 5th Gen, you're welcome here. We have more Mustang owners here than you would think (and other Ford makes). It's all good.

I heard an old quote once, "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" NOT that that's what we're doing here of course....

I don't dog on the Camaro, and I don't try to make the Mustang into something it isn't. I just share what I know, or at least what I think I know ![]() As far as the LT4, I read online that the LT4 was a pretty solid engine, and it was underrated to protect the soon to be released LS1.....It was an interesting read. |

Well then, if thats what all 100 of them looked like, the one I found was fake. It was red with a black hoodscoop.. Oh well... I guess I'll just hang on to my pony untill the 5th gen comes out... I'll post pics in the post your ride topic if anyone wants to see her.

well they COULD have simply swapped out the LT1 for the LT4. I knew a guy in florida who was a member of the impala ss club for the 94-96 cars. and a couple of guys there had LT4s under the hood. the red paint in the recesses of the intake plenum on top of the engine was a dead give away. but what was EVEN better was one guy had a LS1 in his 96 impala with a six speed manual tranny and center console out of a 98 Z28

You know...A kid drives one of those to school every day...I bet he doesn't even know what he's sitting on...He's one of those musician wannabe/gothic kids, so I'd be willing to bet he's not into cars, at all...
