IMO, cars will always be stolen. They could get a flatbed or a helicopter to steal it.

That being said, GM has a duty to make my vehicle secure.
Why not just forget door locks and put a toggle switch on the dash?

This cloning business is just about as easy.

Not only that, as some have mentioned, my insurance rates will go up to cover these losses.
I'm sure we will have to pay more period because the odds of a damage claim occurring w/o an actual theft will go up too.

Also, saying it's only a "LA thing", or "California thing" is pretty ignorant. Everyone knows that once a trend starts (good or bad), it will travel across the country. It's only a matter of time.

FWIW, you can also add Dodge to the list of companies that recognized the problem and is/has attempted to fix it.

Just like L2SS455 I was also planning a multi-state trip but not risking the chance on getting my car stolen while traveling. Definitely understand it can be done locally as well.

Went ahead and contacted GM regarding the security/software update. Much like ostriches their heads are in the sand when it comes to knowing anything about this. Nevertheless i provided all the info and Tammy gave me a case#.

sklippi2018. That's a great looking ride you updated too. Thanks for making that call. All Camaro owners need to do the same now. Hotels, Motels have become easy spots for thieves at the moment and they are targeting Camaros. Hopefully, things will cool off in the future for those long distance rides.

I just called and filed the complaint as well. Maybe something will come of it.

Who's going to call next?

Thanks! Missed my VOM but I ain't complainin'. HA!

Agree that if more folks call and inundate their call centers with increased claim numbers something just may happen. So who's next?!

I read the filing for the lawsuit. Interesting stuff. I'm going to see if I can join the class. It's not just people that have had their car stolen from my reading of it, but it's anybody with these vehicles.

Maybe enough in the class GM will get off their ass and do something to mitigate the damages from future people who might suffer the same fate as the main plaintiff that filed this suit.

The law firm is the Kazerouni Law Group, APC, and their number is (800) 400-6808. Giving them a ring tomorrow. Might not do nothing, but worth a shot.
