Also get the COnvenience & Lighting package and you got a hell of a car! After owning the 2016 Camaro...I would still take a loaded V6 over a Mustang GT (I do like the stangs)...but I have not had a car I like better inside or out than my '16 Camaro...just go with the NPP if you get the Camaro, the V6 still sounds great! |

The V6 has serious handicaps...if you're okay with stock-ish power levels, that's fine.
However you won't be able to modify the v6 as much as the 5.0, period. |

Some pretty good advice here.
Go Camaro SS if you are ever considering doing some road course time. Why? Engine oil cooler, auxilary coolant heat exchangers, transmission cooler and differential cooler (incorporated into transmission cooler, fyi). The base 4-pot front Brembos are more than capable. Also, you have potential warranty coverage for track days. If you don't see yourself doing road course driving, or only a few, the Mustang GT may be your better value. The Coyote 5.0L engine is a sweetheart, especially now that the 2015-present GT engine is just as good as the older Boss/Roadrunner 5.0L. The Camaro V6 is not a bad option. It is still very quick and sporty. It also has a good exhaust note. Get the dual-mode exhaust. I suggest the V6 Camaro route if you just want a cool "pony car", but don't really need the performance of a V8. So: Performance driving = Camaro SS Some tracking/car to play with = Mustang GT Fun car to just drive = Camaro V6 |

I wouldn't even write the sixxer Camaro off as being poorly suited for the occasional track day.
Trust me, you don't need 450+ HP to enjoy the corners. Norm

I'd do a gt premium over a v6 Camaro. But I'd also take a 1SS over a gt premium if the price difference were $3,000 or less.

The only thing with the V6 is the lack of cooling, which would be solved with the 1LE version. There is the optional heavy duty cooling package, but that doesn't cover the transmission or the differential. If you run an automatic and you do performance driving you WANT the transmission cooler. Hands-down. I've already seen a few guy on here post about overheating issues on track and one of my buddys at GM who does a lot of track/durability stuff also recommends it (indirectly through his stories of testing things).

Mustang!
I'd go Mustang.
I love the Camaro and it would always win out for me when the cylinder count is the same but the Mustang would be my choice here. It's cheaper to make the Mustang handle closer to the Camaro then to add power to the V6. No offense to any V6 owners here, it's still an awesome car. |

I think the V6 Camaro is a great sports car. It is a better handling car.
But between those two choices, I would take the S550 5.0 in a heartbeat. It is a very fun car to drive and is 9/10s as fast as an SS. It is a better cruiser and might be even better looking.
