Holley Hooker BlackHeart "Mobi1na" Exhaust Development

Guys,

This is J.T. from Holley Performance (Hooker BlackHeart Division). I would just like to share the development stages of the Camaro 2.0L (t) as we are gearing up to develop options for axle back exhausts, cat backs exhausts and down pipes.
The folks at The National Corvette Museum (NCM) Motorsports Park were kind enough to loan us their 2016 Camaro 4 cylinder nicknamed "Mobil1na".
Here are some photos, as we begin baseline dyno runs. Enjoy and stay tuned for baseline numbers.

I'm probably wring but an axle-back adding 10 hp seems wrong i thought they were primarily for weight savings and sound.

I suppose it would depend exactly how restrictive the stock muffler is... It sure does look heavy. I wasn't going to mess with my exhaust, except for a down pipe, but now I'm kinda thinking dropping that trash can muffler for some weight loss isn't a bad idea.

I mean the weight difference is very noticeable when I put the flowmasters on they weighed maybe 1/3 what that stock suitcase weighed.

No kidding. I'll add it to the aftermarket list soon but I really wanna hear it.

I'm also solely interested in mid pipe and exhaust for the weight savings. I may even just get rid of the mufflers completely first and see how tolerable it is.

Shaving weight seems like a good way to go faster whilst not having to push the engine to its limits.

Exactly, it's more weight savings then performance unless you went with a full 3" cat-back i'd expect those to similar numbers from a cat-back I can't say I honestly noticed a difference in the car by feel with the flowmaster's but I haven't dyno'd the car with them on yet.

Jason did a good write-up in the dragstrip section on easy weight shaving methods aswell. I will say removing the rear seat is easy but unless you have something for sound deadening an aftermarket exhaust makes for an ungodly amount of cabin noise with nothing to insulate the sound where the back seat is.

Putting down 245hp to the wheels. More evidence that these turbos are underrated?
