That whole exhaust note through the speakers thing is annoying as hell i'm so happy I didn't get the premium system.

You answered it, I don't have the GM performance exhaust so it doesn't apply to me.
Thanks for your concern. |

I'm curious, how did you turn yours off? I didn't see it in the menu system unless it's part of the "auto-volume" but I thought that was similar to "speed compensation" feature you see in other cars.

I disagree with some of the others as well. I've upgraded the exhaust on 4-cylinders in the past and they've sound fine. I typically prefer Magnaflows/Borla (same design, but Magnaflow is cheaper) over Flowmaster as the Magnaflows have a deeper, mellow sound over Flowmaster's more treble, raspy sound. To each their own.
My car is leased and an auto so I'm not sure if I'm going to mess with the exhaust. I like to hear turbo spool over the exhaust, but that's just me |

Sorry, if this a dumb question.
Will installing a catback system cause Check Engine Light ? I received my S-type axle back system today and will be installing during the weekend. Giving a second thought if I can order a y pipe and make mine a full catback system. Also, I was browsing the mid Y pipe in Phastek performance site. It says that pipe is only for racing cars and not for street or highway driving. This is the one. Am I looking at the right one ? https://www.phastekperformance.com/u...pipe-60622.htm My car is a 988 miles now and this will be a great 1000 mile mod :-) Last edited by sureshshanmugam79; 12-07-2016 at 10:42 PM. |

Shameless non-self promotion but I would also suggest calling a few muffler shops in the area. Buying an axleback system is pointless in my opinion. Near as I can tell you're going to need to cut and clamp to get the stock muffler off anyways. So there's zero benefit to buying a system when a shop can cut off your stock muffler, slap on some aftermarket mufflers, *weld* your pipes, and align your tips to your liking. You're also supporting a local business and keeping money in the local economy.
Alright, I'll get off my Austinite soapbox now |
