Catch can worth it for 19 i4

See alot of Camaro owners with the ss who put on the catch can for their vehicles. Is it also as effective with the turbo setup? Seen the debate between whether it is worth while or not but seems to be a cheap way to ensure things stay in better working order . Also what is a reputable and easy to use/install can.

I would say its absolutely worth it. Grab a mishimoto complete kit and call it a day.

Caution.. some have had warranty denied as result.

Not worth hassle if you NEED the warranty for any engine related failure.

Per Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and the Federal Trade Commission they HAVE to prove the damage was caused by aftermarket components....

As far as the catch cans. You ahve ZZP, Mishimoto, and Tracy Lewis all great systems and all are used by many members. I personally have the ZZP setup I know Tracy has put ALOT of R&D into theirs ...mishimoto is also a great setup love their hose kits personally not a fan of their locations tho....all based on preference

Catch cans pretty useful on any car, more so now direct injection and not cleaning valves. And its pretty easy to swap back and forth if you have to go in for any warranty work. For instance my timing chain cover is seeping, and i know its not a far stretch to say blocked pcv system or something could cause that so i swapped my stock hoses back on before going to dealership about it just to avoid any headache. I have the mishimoto setup. I cant rate it against any others because have not used them, but the cans get full so its saving some from going back in the intake.

The issue with the warranties being denied is they can say you physically modified the PCV system. To be honest they will win most everytime. The systems themselves are made to prevent what we already know the reason GM. Doesn't make them standard is the same reason TPMS has become a thing 95% of the general public is lazy and inept af to basic vehicle maintenance and parents should really be ashamed most all not all just the vast majority. If you don't empty said cans regularly especially during colder montha they fill up and now your just ingesting a stream of oil. Not to mention this can freeze in the winter so worse problems can occur. I can't fault GM on the cans not being standard they'd be opening themselves up to more lawsuits and issues.

Had a guy cone in with his brothers S/C Cobalt car looked mint af he had a CEL ok not an issue plugged the reader in coolant system code came up had him open the hood no coolant cap..... delivering parts I'd hear and see busted cars and more often then i wanna admit the poor mechanic said they never changed the oil and had no idea they needed to.

Catch cans are completely unnecessary. The proof is in the 98% of the rest of the camaros on the road, that don't have one, that are still running correctly. Don't you think GM would have put one on the car if it needed one?? Same goes with the challenger people. They swear by them. Meanwhile my 392 has been bone stock for 30k miles, and driven HARD. And never consumes a drop of oil.

I'd run a catch can if you were changing the weight of the oil to a lighter weight. But otherwise, they are a placebo mod. Wasted money.

With that logic everything on a modded car is unnecessary...If GM, Dodge, etc wanted us to have it they'd provide it with the car....catch cans are not completely unnecessary they may not be needed HOWEVER they are very useful to the people who take car health seriously ...they prevent oil build up in several components and allow the contaminated oil to be stored in a centrallized point
