No need to remove the seat. IIRC, you remove rear bolts, slide back, install and bolt back. I had a towel along the pax door edge to keep from scratching the plastic.

krops, you could raise the seat all the way and see if you can install that way.

After looking at all the options and trying some of them, I went with the Element roll bar mount. I wanted one where I could reach it from the drivers seat and grab it with one hand. This is for fighting a small fire not a big one, something I've had to do in the past. Main reasons for using Element are:

CLEAN. MAKES NO MESS SINCE ITS A GAS
LONGER LASTING, 50 seconds vs 10 or 15.
SMALLER & LIGHTER
NON-TOXIC GAS
MAINTENANCE-FREE

Down side it's more expensive. Total for the extinguisher and mount was $140

Good video about extinguishers in cars and comparing the types and a demo. Obviously he's placement is not good for track.

The Fire Captain had to get extremely close to extinguish the fire with the element. Better than nothing, but I think it looks limited to small fires.

I was thinking the same thing. On a small car fire it might be perfect but anything more “substantial” will probably need something with more zip.

Exactly, limited to small fires, which I've had one before. Big fires you would want to get away from the car.

On a completely different platform (C5 Z06) I went with the H3R clean agent 2.5 lbs model with their quick release mount. About $350 from Summit. I mounted it on my roll bar behind my seat because there's no way I can access it from my racing seat when I'm strapped in. Besides, the first rule of a car fire is GET THE F@#K OUT! I can easily grab and release my extinguisher from my open drivers door or window. I've practiced grabbing it a few times and I'm able to get it into action fairly quick. Good for small spot fires, if you have something more apocalyptic going on you need to let the fire crew handle it. If that happens with my current set-up at least I can save the fire extinguisher for my replacement vehicle. LOL!
