Rear Suspension Upgrade Options
So I was looking to upgrade my rear suspension. Toe, Upper and Lower Trailing arms and found 2 options for us.
ZZP Kit 499.99 BMR Kit 299.85 (Thru Phastek or RDP) Seems like a no brainer for myself atleast, given BMR has a great reputation. If anyone's found anything else let me know. Figured i'd post this for those looking to upgrade out of the mediocre GM suspension for Racing. BMR has quite a few other options as well to complete the rear end suspension. BMR was kind enough to verify these will fit the I4 Camaro before I bought them. Coilovers are a ways down the road for me atm.

As soon as I get to it.. I'm going to swap all the suspension parts I can with BMR.. mainly because they are 45 mins from me and their reputation. I'm also going to see if the will make the SS double bar strut brace fit my LT. I haven't seen any other options

Nice, ya they were pretty forthcoming on information when i asked. I'll probably buy the rest later down the road when i hit the track up more when i exit novice class.

I'd be interested in seeing the actual performance related differences in the suspension from BMR. Aside from the adjust-ability aspect, how much better it makes the car perform.
OR How the stock suspension components are bad enough for a claim to be made about their mediocre-ness. I know we spoke before about you having wheel hop when taking corners, and i'm curious as to how these suspension components will alleviate that and what made you upgrade. EDIT: Just read Phastek's description. NVM

My basic knowledge please correct me if I'm wrong....but I don't understand how you're getting the $299.95 for a Toe Rod and Upper/Lower Trailing Arms
Asked ZZP on FB if they're planning to make the Control Arm as well in the future; if not then I can understand people using BMR. However, Direct vs Direct they're the same price minus $0.10 for the same components BMR Lower Trailing - 119.95(99.95 Phas) Upper Trailing - 119.95(99.95 Phas) Toe Rod(Link Rod) - 259.95(249.95 Phas) Total = 499.85(449.85 Phas) Upper Control Arm - 119.95(99.95 Phas) Total = 619.80(549.80 Phas) ZZP Upper/Lower/Link Rod = 499.99

Evil: I know it's really expensive, but what about doing the full Chevy LT lowering kit from GM? Or the aFe springs and sway bars specifically for LT model?
I'm wondering because that's the next stage in my build for this car. I'll be done tuning (yeah right!) the engine this week and tackling the suspension components next. Really looking forward to your results and feedback on the BMR products if that's what you decide to do.

Like mentioned on Facebook, ours is the complete rear end kit, including the "toe rod" that BMR sells. Not going to bad mouth BMR at all, because they make a great product and have for years. Our product comes in just over their non-adjustable upper/lower paired with the toe rod, and under what their fully adjustable would be sold at. Only thing that concerns me with the adjustable portions, is how those components will hold up with wear over time, since it's such a smaller diameter than the rest of the arm.
I can tell you, either way you go, that you'll be impressed. My Camaro feels worlds better with our trailing arms installed. Much more controlled when launching, and just feels so solid in the rear end now. Can't wait to get it on the road course this spring. |

Its been awhile since Ive even thought about suspension, but why not hit up the junk yard for a wrecked base V8. Snag the rear cradle mounts (<---where I bet your wheel hop is really coming from), dampers, ball-jointed rear toe links, and stabilizer shaft. That's what GM does on the 1LE V6, and it works. Should be fairly cheap also.

After further investigation, the ZL1 1LE does in fact, use solid aluminum bushings.
