If the price was right, I'd jump on it immediately. But, the fact is you can piece together a ZL1 or Cadillac V 6-piston kit that bolts right up for a fraction of the cost. (At least on the 5th gen, I suspect 6th gen will be the same.)

the disconnect is, it should be more expensive to buy the parts than to buy it on the car. Hope Chevy is not trying to do the BMW option pricing model. $3175 makes no sense.

Agreed.

But only us 1LE/ZL1 owners know the value of these options.

Most 6th Gen buyers will skip these options and regret it later.

There good brakes but not as good as the ones on the Z/28.

If this is the same kit that GM Performance Parts just released I can see why it's so expensive. It has the 6 piston front calipers and slotted 2-pc rotors ($$$) on all four corners with front brake ducts and front brake lines. The front rotors are also 14.6" diameter.

Agreed.

But most peeps wont want to spend the money it takes to maintain the CC pads and rotors....

This.

Too many people spend unnecessary amounts of money for brake upgrades that really only add resistance to brake fade and don't add any benefit to stopping power, which really negates any usefulness on the street and only adds bling behind the wheels. A racetrack design does not always translate to a great street design.

The same can be said for the slotted/drilled rotors, which are a complete waste, in my opinion.

I suppose any visual modification would be a complete waste, in your opinion, then, eh?

No, but buying something under the pretense that it is going to improve performance based on its visual flair is a waste.
