M6 bogging issue resolved on 2018s?

I'm getting ready to order my ZL1 in the next few days. Have the launch issues on the M6 cars been eliminated on the '18 models? I'm concerned with both the issue where the car loses power when trying to gently take off from a stop, and the issue where the car bogs (basically falls on it's face) when trying an aggressive launch. I'm guessing the latter is just torque management to protect the drivetrain, but makes for some lousy 1/4 mile times.

As much as I'd like a manual, these issues are pushing me toward the A10. Looking for some input from 2018 owners first.

Thanks

the manual is awesome, get a Maimo ported throttle body (5 min diy)
its not as bad as it sounds in forum

also becomes much less noticeable with TC off in tour to competitive mode in sport or in the other fancy traction modes in track

But do the 18's do the same? That's the real question.

Just picked up my 2018 zl1 m6 still in break in period about 325 miles,, can’t wait to get it to the track, but running out of time from winter setting in. If the track is still open in December I’ll post some times and see how the launches go..until then break in time blows

Keep us posted. Also you can use the breaking in time to practice launching at the track. Just pedal the car down the track in the 12/13s aft the launch. Then you will know the answer. If you can regularly put down 1.7-8 60s you are good.

Wow...I posted this over a year ago. I believe the answer is that nothing changed with the ‘18 models. I ended up ordering a 2018 A10 that I took delivery of in September of last year. No regrets.

Well, since Al's answer to the question was that we don't know how to drive a manual, I wouldn't expect anything to change.

1.7,s is gonna be hard, I have experience with older manual cars at the track. I pulled 1.85,s usually but took a lot of practice..I just work to damn much to get out there and street launches are now where near the same thing, I think upping this gear ratio to say .410 or 456 would do this car wonders, the auto would pry go 10.5 on drag radials! Ha thanx for that tip on launch’s and just pedal the car down didn’t even think of that

I had this exact same issue on my 2017 Corvette Z06.

Installing the Tony Mamo Throttle body did drastically change the feel.

Stock there was a "bog"

W/ Tony Mamo's Throttle Body it was tack sharp to the point that even the slightest foot twitch would cause the car to kick.

I honestly would have preferred something in between.

The "Bogging" described is really over exaggerated IMO. Sure it's true its annoying and for a 70k car it should be flawless so I get the complaint, but its not the end of the world. You learn to sort of pre-blip the throttle before a "normal" take off.

If someone is complaining about bogging on hard launches, they're just not giving it enough gas (again IMO).

Others' mileage may vary.

The manual is awesome and my prefrence. The boging issue for normal driving has been over blown. If your into drag racing the auto is the way to go, no question about that.
