They do, although much more quietly than a camaro equipped with npp. I fixed that by removing my muffler, now my pops and gurgling rival npp equipped camaros.

In the rural States accident figures started to show FATALITIES from drivers falling asleep in broad daylight on a long trip. We had them here in Montana all the time.

A 550 mile trip will take You TEN hours at 55. TODAY even at 70 MPH that 550 trip is now UNDER eight hours. And in States with an 80 MPH limit..... Under SEVEN hours.

It could always be worse.
Does any remember the song " I can't drive 55" ?

the pops & cackles is unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust. my carbed 84 k20 chebby truck did the same thing. it isn't flattering.

I do want to point out that the burbles are a great tool to get people to stop tailgating you well at least in my area.

On my 2017 1SS Convertible - when it had the non-NPP muffler (single outlet on each side), if there was any burble/popping noise, I didn't hear them (even with the top down)

Since I swapped out the muffler and rear valence to the NPP OEM muffler (dual outlet on each side), that's when the "music" started LOL

While my fiance hates it, my boys and I love it - especially when the top is down and we are driving through a underpass

I have a 2017 with the NPP exhaust, and only get a tiny bit of that when the engine is cold. Once warm, it disappears completely.

Before I recently purchased a 1LE, I started a thread on the different exhaust sounds over the years. Some good info and links on tuning pre 2019:

Had a Triumph motorcycle with shorty mufflers that would do it as well. Didn't mind it so much there because it at least helped drivers around me know that a bike was somewhere around them.

I don't like it in a car . . . not in mine, or in those around me. Don't want the kind of attention it's most likely to attract.

You can at least silence it at times by keeping a slight pressure on the accelerator or pressing in the clutch pedal. Not a cure-all, but with practice you can stop the de-cel pop when you really want to keep it quiet. Good luck.
