If the weather ever clears up, I'll mess around with it more. What I didn't test is in Tour Mode, put the shifter over into manual shift mode and punch it. That would tell us whether PSM is possible in any mode other than Sport or Track.

I actually drove mine this past weekend in tour mode and even though it doesn't enter into performance shift mode and hold the gears, it will still drop from 10th to 3rd and pin you back nearly instantly. It just starts up shifting if you let off the throttle, where if you're in sport or track mode and cause the tranny to go into performance shift mode, it doesn't upshift when you let off the gas. It only upshifts if you just barely get back on the gas for a few seconds with no high corner speeds or anything.

If you put the shifter in manual mode, it doesn't shift unless you tell it to, or you slow down without downshifting. You can be in 10th gear and stomp it, and it'll just hold 10th. I started using manual mode for a lot of my break in after having it drop so many gears that the RPM jumped to 5K in full auto.

Makes sense to use manual mode to keep the rpm's from going over 4000 during the break in. Good suggestion.

Question

I wonder of why the ZL1 1LE is not coming out with the A10 transmission even that the ZL1 made a good show of speed at Nürburgring?

They changed 6th gear in the 1LE version, so the car should be able to reach it's top speed, now...whereas the manual "regular" ZL1 could not...which was a necessary ability at the Nurburgring.

ohh, I don't.

The consequences of this mean much much higher revs at highways speeds. To be frank, although I'm ordering one...I know already that I will wish I had a nice tall highway gear every once in a while.

What this car really needs is a 7-speed, and call it a day.
