What do you think about this turbo inlet filter? At least the late summer bugs won't pass through Eddie.

Seriously though, if you got an alky/meth kit and used water only it would make a big difference with IAT. Wouldn’t need to touch the tune

We ran 50/50 Meth/water on my 16ss with 2650 Maggie, didn't really need it as we did on the 2300 before we switched. When I sold it the new owner he didn't want it, so we barely made any tune changes and the car actually ran almost a 10th quicker and 2mph faster just on change in the tune, turning the meth off and running C16.

Which kit would you recommend?

My other tuner, the other Joe, says no on spraying water, says he ruined his blower and it will ruin my blower, says I could do port injection but it's very expensive and time-consuming tuning DI and PI.

Can anyone share photos on what they have done / used, to seal around the RF airbox?

In the first pic you can see the red ram air I installed today at the grille. The headlight backing was also removed. I'm pointing to a foam strip I used to close the gap to the hood. Round or square foam works. These strips are probably not necessary with my ram air setup.

The second pic shows the foam I used to close the RF and WW liner gap. You can also see one of the wrapped intercooler lines.

The third pic shows the DEI heat reflective material on the engine side of the RF

The 4th pic shows another piece of foam to close the other gap to the hood.

Very cool, thanks for sharing... I will be doing the same thing... debating on whether or not a BG will help my set.up, waiting to hear back from TED.

Give it a shot. A little extra protection can’t hurt as long as it doesn’t hurt power. I’m at a point of “no risk no gain” and prefer it to be wide open, but I realize most don’t want to live like that. In both cases I would say track only.

I agree. All of this is aimed at going to sea level and letting her eat. You can see I'm not a guy that cares about engine compartment dress-up. She's a tool. Like a tractor used to plow a field. All that matters is HP and et. I'll put an LME in it if it blows.

Engine Masters has a good, new, episode on heat shielding that was quite surprising.

I can't find a way to watch it that doesn't require a subscription.

The SS version of the Roto-Fab effectively has a closed box, because its top edge seals perfectly with the hood (I can tell from the indentations the rubber strip made on the hood liner).

If it had a larger diameter inlet pipe, I think it would be the absolute best for the ZL1, not sure why they went with the partially open box design for the ZL1 and BG variants... killer looks maybe?

I hope not because when you actually look at it closely it's very unattractive. The closed one looks better.
