Anyone tried these new Heat Exchangers?
I saw Speed Engineering release a set under the radio for zl1 and cts-v, I wonder how they fair especially for the price.

The thing about this is... if headers leak that's fine you can drive to an exhaust shop and fix it...
If this leaks, you're stranded. Obviously, before installing I would do the fill with water test but after install with heat cycles and long term pressures how will the welds hold up... That's what I'm afraid of.

I would worry about the larger one being a direct fit easy to make a bracket the smaller one I think room would be tight!
I was even thinking about making a LS caddy or zl1 work from a 5th gen I'd like to know thr dimensions... I know the prospeed is 22 inches wide, 15 inches tall, 2.16 inches thick for 799.00 It gets complicated and there is theory behind how thick to make it.. with how much airflow it gets.. normally you would think the ticker the better.. For volume yes but maybe not for dissipating the heat.. I though I read the 1 3/4 was ideal since the velocity was faster there the fins.. now of course if you can get the air going through a thicker unit as the same rate that would be the best.. I been looking around to I think the side ones are a waste at 1100 bucks but now this maybe makes it worth it.. this is the eforce size for 350.00 Supercharger Heat Exchanger; Single Pass; Single Row; 31000 BTU/HR; 22 in. W x 16.5 in. H x 1.5 in. blk I can get for 350.00 I have even thought about running 2x 22 x 8 x 2 stacked.. dual passes all over ebay for 150 each Anyhow that's a great deal.. BTW I called AFCO told them i would give them my OEM one and car for a replacement one they said they were just fixing to start the project.. The guy was thinking 5 to 600 mark for the AFCO there usually proud of there stuff to.

Here is something to thinks about.
The whole aftermarket industry seem to be chasing the wrong end of the donkey because it is easy and Oh we can sell that. The Intercooler/s inside the supercharger is where the weak point is evident by the supercharger industry focus and where all the gains are made. The Factory heat exchangers (the one out front) in most instances are more than adequate and do a fine job of dumping whatever heat the inadequate intercooler bricks can collect. Not discrediting anything about aftermarket heat exchangers but Like EDFHOBBIES said there is a balance between air flow and cooling. Bigger thicker heat exchangers restrict air flow to the AC condenser, Radiator, engine transmission Power Steering, and differential cooling. The way I see things is the car comes with an Engineered Cooling Pack that balances all the air flow to each part of that cooling pack. So you are robbing the many to feed the one. Ted.
