It looks restoreable.

Hardest part will be scraping the hershey squirts out of the seats

All I’m saying is that writing off a damaged car is certainly someone’s right, but an uninformed one. A properly repaired car is nothing to be afraid of.
Oh look who magically sprouted an engineering degree and 27 years of experience after he got one upped rofl. If you had that, you would have mentioned it before and not justified your knowledge of structural integrity on 3 years of auto body tech school. You also changed your claim from "better than new" to "nothing to be afraid of." Nice try though.

He did describe the correct method of repairs.

Granted I won't touch a car that needs to be welded to another half a car.. but repairs to the car posted in the 1st post are easily repaired to the same standard as new.

I like how people say they can fix it better than new and then have to slice in body panels and use filler on the weld joints. Sorry, better than new would be full panel replacement and no use of filler.

Also, the paint would have to be baked on in an oven like at the factory for a "better than new" designation for me.

After all is said and done, you still have a fixed up wreck with a branded title for quite a bit $$ invested. It ain't cheap fixing these things up. I'd rather just save up a tiny bit more and get a pristine non-wrecked example.

Nothing magical about it, bud, I got my degree in 1991. I didn't mention it initially, because we were discussing repairing cars, not engineering them. But I can see you'd rather insult me so you can appear to be the smartest person in the room. I've dealt with people like you my whole career. Whatever. You "won" an internet debate. LOL. Have a nice day.

This sold for 8500.00 at insurance auction. The guy put the motor and trans into a pickemtruck! I have been robbing parts off it for us to have carbon fiber parts made! and for me I got the drive shaft, dash insert, the wing, the hood scoop, fuel door, red seat belts, and the steering wheel all for 1700.00 I think I came out like a champ.

So far whats available at Trufiber:

Interior parts about to be listed: saw them yesterday in crate when I dropped off more parts!

Stereo Cover
Push Button Cover
Steering wheel 3 piece set, lower part is real replacement part
Gear shift bezel manual 6 real replacement part
door handle cover
door handle windows cover
door pad real replacement part

Interior parts in the process:

Pillars with and with out gauge pods
Complete front bezel dash piece from cluster across to pass side
Complete upper dash to window
Dash Insert similar to GMs
Complete Center console
door trim part from edge to dash big L shaped part
Just picked up 2 door panels so maybe a whole piece or at least a carbon part for the lighted section
Upper roof controls cover
AC control maybe a cover or replacement part

Engine bay parts made so far:

Coil Covers
Radiator Cover
Radiator Cover extensions / under hood plates
Expansion tank cover
Fuse box cover

Engine bay parts coming:

Washer fluid cover or container
Brake reservoir cover or container

that's what I told the guy all he wanted was the motor and tranny!

he wants 3500 for rest of the car.. but all that's left is the following.

1 fairly good front rim
2 back rims probably can straighten
1 front brake rotor and caliper
2 rear calipers and discs
differential
gas tank
2 rear coil overs
1 front coil over but the ball socket popped out so not sure it salvageable
rear seats good shape
passenger seat perfect
driver seat needs to be sewn up from air bags
rear cradle
scrap value?
