So C&D isn't a reliable source?

No matter which you pick, the 2015 GT is at least half a sec slower than the A8 6th gen. GM's times have been accurate if not too conservative in the past.
80% of buyers are doing quarter mile or straight line. Not road racing. I own a scat pack and a camaro which I love dearly. But I am being real about it. My Scat will kill my Camaro. Been a GM fan for life still am...never ever will own a mustang. But with all the hype about it and a car that weighs almost 600 pounds more can run the same times?

Speaking of Hemis, hows the aftermarket on those? Did HP Tuners ever release software for them? Isnt that the main thing holding them back?

Where are you seeing that they will run the same times?

I have Mustang weight´s from Ford germany here in the picture at first line in kg.
They are measured at EU Norm which says:
car driveready with all liquids and 90%fuel + 75kg for driver.

I convert to pounds for the GT Fastback manual it says 3792 lbs and for the auto 3818 lbs.

Now i would like to know what the Camaro 2SS with automatic and sunroof and MRC and MPP will weight ? !

This, I want. I despise DiabloSports's BS requiring one to be an "Authorized Dealer" in order to purchase a license for CMR just to customize fuel tables, spark tables. This is on top of the $3-400 you already spent for an Intune or Trinity. (They said back in 2008 they were working on a single-user CMR, but nothing has come from that.)

edit: Oh yeah. DiabloSport's CMR costs $2,500+

I hope its comparable to HP Tuners for GM. I love that program. Not being able to tune it would be a deal breaker for me.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of speed shops that are authorized DS CMR tuners who have spent the $2500 to get CMR, so you can get a custom tune for your HEMI.

You just can't do it yourself. And these days, EFI tuning, while complex, isn't unlearnable by your average DIY-er. Which is why I like HP Tuners. $600 bux, and if you want to tune more than one vehicle, you don't need to buy additional equipment - only licenses.

Definately. You dont want to pay a shop everytime you change something. And IMO, if you really want to get the tune spot on the way you like it. Do it yourself over the course of several days, weeks, whatever it takes.

My guess. 2SS with auto, sunroof, MRC, and NPP will come out somewhere around 3,800 lbs.

Was their a point to all this? Because Scat Packs do not run 12.3 except in maybe perfect conditions on a well prepped track. Certainly not in any media's testing. The whole comment about being 600lbs lighter should go to show you 12.3 will not be the fastest an A8 6th gen will run either.

I like the Scat Packs cars, might even get a Charger one, but physics and facts are the 6th gen will be faster in independent testing. The 8 speed and power to weight advantage over the 5th gen doesn't exist anymore.

Chuck at HHP in Houston (my brother) has got one up to 840rwhp, boost only plus the obvious bolt-ons. They seem to be responding pretty well.

Awesome performance numbers. I'm in love with the idea of a V6 1LT/RS for a daily driver. I don't think there is any question that there will be a need for a 1LE with those braking and handling numbers. .97 lateral acceleration is impressive for a standard SS but we all know there is meat left on the bones with this new chassis. Like others have said the braking taking 117 feet is due to the run flats. I love the fourth gen Z28 comparison to the 2.0L turbo. Anyone that has driven those cars knows what a blast they are to drive and to have have similar performance standard coupled with expected impressive MPG is huge. Well done GM.

You might have missed it, but GM's specs on the 5th gen 1LE braking was 120ft. Seems it is very optimistic with MT's review showing 99ft. So to GM it brakes better than the 1LE.
