Guess it depends entirely on how much manpower and money you have to throw behind it's development Injen had theirs out quick and though it has some weird design issues that are easily solved it works wonderfully.

The ecoboost didn't get a power bump. It got a torque boost.

2015-2017 EBM is rated at 310 hp and 320 lb-ft. 2018 EBM is rated at 310 hp and 350 lb-ft. No power bump, just +30 lb-ft. It gets more of an acceleration bump from the 10-speed auto, though.

I feel you. But 9 and 10 only have a .05 difference? Why even have a 10 speed? Have to have even numbers?

Probably for ease of manufacturing. I do agree that having 9th and 10th so close together is quite pointless; I think it'd be better if 10th was 0.59:1, or somewhere thereabout.

There is a tendency for individual ratios to be changed around for certain models, and I'm sure Ford will also tinker a bit with them as well.

^^^ Finally! I've been waiting for years for something like this!^^^
Ford has been offering packages for the EcoBoost Mustang almost since it came out!
Please, Baby Jesus, let this come to fruition! HAHAHA

The Camaro boss (Oppenheiser) also hints at some good news for the opposite end of the Camaro spectrum. He says his team is working with Chevrolet Performance on some upgrade parts and packages for the Camaro's base turbocharged four-cylinder.

That's one of the reasons the 4th gen Camaro died in 2002.
Insurance cost had nothing to do with the 4th gen ending. 4th gen ended because it couldn't meet the newest crash safety standard at the time, and it wasn't selling well. Lack of sales had little to do with insurance costs, as most V8 buyers are over 25yo giving them cheaper insurance anyway, and the 3.8 V6 was a slug that could hardly get out of it's own way which was cheap to insure. Lack of 4th gen sales were due to the 20+ year old chassis, awful materials used and atrocious build quality. I went from a 2000 Formula Firebird to a 2006 GTO and the difference in quality was HUGE. I didn't feel as badly ripped off spending $28k on a new GTO vs. spending $28k on my GF (at the time) new 2002 WS6 Trans Am.

I'm not aiming this at you, but you were one of the first to say this in this thread. I don't get why people get their panties all in a knot about this stuff. Aftermarket parts will typically make more power for less money.

I wasn't referring specifically to the death of the 4th gen, but of the Camaro itself. It was a pos, for sure, and I actually still have mine but MAN it's awful.

Ultimately the Camaro died in 2002 because it didn't sell, and there are tons of reasons for it, all important. It came up in every fcar gathering that even fbodfather himself talked about at length, but he's spoken on insurance and I've heard from others about it like Dave Hill years back that bean counters didn't like how expensive Camaro was to insure and the bean counters back then wanted every reason they could find to kill a sports coupe with its low margins and invest in SUVs... even the Corvette got close to the block back then, but the point being insurance was a big internal to GM reason to axe the car, moreso than we'd care about.

Cost to own and insure is a big deal in the market - my significant other in 2001 couldn't get insured for a Camaro even with a V6, but she could get insured in a V8 Mustang - in many cases for many people a Mustang GT was CHEAPER to insure than the V6 Camaro, which wasn't good. At one point I considered selling my 4th gen for a Corvette and the Vette basically identical in rates, even though it was a 2000 Vette vs a 95 Camaro. wtf.

****ing shocking, right? The Aussies had a LOT of engineering and development down... but Holden's interiors were just vastly superior. I think in that era the Monaro/Commodore had better sport seats than any GM product globally. There's a reason Mark Reuss got shuffled off to Holden by Bob Lutz for a bit, after all.
