Have any of you solved the coolant temperature gauge problem?

I am getting tired of having to unplug my car battery every week to get it reading again. It has no reading when it malfinctions. My air conditioner doesnt work when the coolant temperature gauge doesnt read. What part do I need to buy?

I haven't had an issue like this with mine, are your coolant tank and coolant overflow at the proper levels?

First I’ve heard of someone having this issue…

Had this problem intermittently happen 4 month after ownership.
Replaced the sensor: No bueno, phenomena continued.

Turned out to be the inside of the Connector of the coolant Temp sensor right near the TB / Intake hose.
Specifically, when looking inside the connector, there are 2 female "teeth".
One of these was open too wide and therefore an intermittent connection to the sensor's prongs . The solution: Simply use a pair of tweezers / long-nose plyer to carefully press these internal metal teeth together a little, in order to form a snug fit on the sensor's prongs.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip. Is it easy to get at? Will I need any special tools and how long will it take me?

You’re welcome. Hopefully you get it fixed and it’s not too difficult as a DIY repair.

Very simple. Take off the plastic connector from the Coolant Temp sensor. Use a good torch-light to look into the inside of the connector and identify the small 2 female metal teeth-connectors.
Take a pair of tweezers / long nose plyers and carefully press each of these teeth together. Make sure the slot of these teeth is tight enough to snug fit on the sensors male prongs.
Re-connect the plastic connector onto the sensor.
Job Done.
Now see if this solved the problem.
If not, continue searching other reasons.
