Let's be honest, most of us won't reach it, but it is definitely possible. We get plenty of positive customer feedback regarding MPG (not for the Camaro yet, we just launched the product). It depends heavily on your driving style and in which driving sitations you typically drive. How can you improve MPG? Not with full throttle and badass driving. Other than that, it is pretty simple. Your automatic transmission shifts to the next higher gear when a certain torque level is reached (on manuals the driver shifts when having enough torque). When you increase the torque of your engine along the whole rpm range, what happens? Correct, you shift earlier to the next higher gear. Earlier means at lower rpms. The lower the rpms, the less fuel you need. This means, if you drive at lower average rpm, your MPG will increase. That’s also the reason why the MPG improvement is higher with tuned diesel cars (the torque gain is higher with diesel engines). If you drive fast and NOT at lower average rpms you won’t save any fuel. In Europe, we have customers that are not at all interested in more hp – only in better MPG. I the US, it is different (maybe because your gas prices are much lower). |

https://youtu.be/xBYAHftGKhs So we dyno tested the RaceChip GTS Black yesterday, I was very impressed with the results. Keep in mind, every dyno reads difference, I've never been on this particular brand of dyno before. I also have a catless downpipe on the car, and a K&N Airfilter. Also, this test was performed on setting 6, rather than 7, as I was advised I probably shouldn't run on 7 with only having 91 octane fuel available here, rather than 93 that all the cool guys run Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Jason@JacFab; 12-03-2018 at 01:30 PM. |

I think I’m going to try this racechip out, they have 30 day trial so if I don’t like I can return, I’ll know by first day if I’ll be returning it. I like how I can just reverse it if need warranty work

I emailed them to see if having current performance mods can cause it any harm, I have jacfab valve, high flow down pipe, and CAI, larger throttle body,I’m worried that it will make the car run lean since it’s tricking the sensors into thinking not enough air is being pushed so that will let more boost but if theres more air and not enough fuel it can make it run lean, curious to know how the afr will work and how it will adjust fuel

I'm very interested in their response. We have the same mods and I am considering the race chips instead of a tune for warranty purposes if it will work with my mods.

that's my fear. I have had misfire counts since my car had 800 miles on it and the dealership won't even check the car out. Im waiting for it to blow up any day now.

Dam what’s the symptoms you are getting? I would try another dealer too, btw if you have mishimoto intake, mines is causing my car to run lean on decelerations which cause huge backfire but doesn’t struggle to Accelarate, I’m switching back to stock intake when it gets a bit warmer out side

If you research the thread, Racechip says they do not recommend any aftermarket mods on the car if you are going to use their chip. It was designed for a bone stock set up.
