Tony Mamo TB install problem
Hi Guys-
I just installed the TB. While I'm certainly not a wrench, it was pretty straightforward. Upon starting the car there's a considerably rough idle and the car dash shows "reduced power mode". Any ideas?? FWIW- no other mods to the engine other than green filter (which I installed two months ago).

Added too much horsepower without a tune, put the stocker back on and it'll be good as new.

A negative cable disconnect before installation may have prevented a CEL/RPM.
If you physically touched the sensor end of the MAF that can code too. Try a battery disconnect. If that doesn't work, as hashtag mentioned you can clear the code with a OBD2 reader.

Thanks for the responses!!
I was getting a Throttle Actuator code that my reader wouldn't clear. Car sounded awful. I put the stock TB back on and cleared the CEL and it's smooth as before. Maybe I'll try again (this time disconnecting the negative battery cable) later.

Tony is a hands on guy and super helpful. You could get in touch with him if you can't resolve the issue.

It sounds like a bad connection to the throttle body servo. Your description matches what would happen if you unplugged the TB and started the car. You sure it was seated all the way?

Going to have to return it and get a different one from Tony. Same thing happened to me. He said it was one of his more radically ported ones and not all cars like them. I could tell it wasn't brand new also and he tried it previously on another car before sending to me. Mine didn't like it either. Car ran like shit when started. Put old TB back on and it was fine. Tried resetting battery to do a relearn etc with Mamo TB and no better also. The new one he sent me works fine.

By chance did you unplug the MAF upon install? If so don’t. It’s best to leave it connected to the wires and just hanging until you put back together.

Try a battery disconnect via the negative terminal in the trunk. Disconnect for a few minutes then reconnect.

I'm going to contact Tony and see if it's just a bad unit. Switching back to stock everything worked perfectly so I think that could be it.
You guys are great and thank you! I do love this car!

It's the throttle body he sent you 100%. He'll get you squared away though Tony's always been a stand up guy.
