Scan tool?
Anyone have a scan tool that can retract and calibrate the rear electric parking brake? Instructions say I need to do that when replacing pads and rotors.
I'm willing to pay a small amount and a pack of beer! Trying to replace my rotors and pads soon, but now wondering how the heck I'll do the above. Thanks!

I've never heard of that being a thing. Is it something to do with MRC because it's not on standard or brembo models like that.

Not sure. I think it might be needed for cars with an electric parking-brake whose motor is part of the caliper. Which at least for the Camaro v6 rears, it is.

All 6th Gens come with the electronic parking brakes for this to only be an issue on the V6 seems off. I've never heard of this issue before I'd ask a local trusted mechanic about it before anything. Best i have is HPTuners not a traditional scan tool. Just this whole step seems totally unnecessary for a pad and rotor swap when the parking brake is an entirely seperate system.

It’s specific to the v6, and maybe the i4. The SS has a different parking-brake.
Mine is part of the caliper. So when the parking brake is activated, it pushes in the brake pad. I'm reading online that HP Tuners can't access the BCM. It needs to be a 'Tech 2' or 'MDI' device. Thanks though.

you could just take a battery some wire and alligator clips and apply 12 volts to the connector. One way will retract the other will extend (reverse polarity) need two wires positive and ground. I use a power probe
