295/30ZR20 Front Tire?
Has anyone tried 295/30ZR20 tires on the 10" wide rims over the factory 285/30ZR20 size.
When looking at the factory Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires the 295's have a half-inch of additional section width, six tenths of an inch tread width, and two tenths of an inch additional diameter. I don't see any issues, but someone who's tried the combination might know better. I'm not one to run spacers.

No bit of that is going to turn in to performance on the street or track there's no reason to dabble in a 295/30 unless you just like typing "295/30". |

only disadvantage would be in auto-x, you would have to swing slightly wider through the slalom sections, which will slow your times

I can tell you there have been people that have run the 305 rear tire on the front SS 1LE wheel. A 295/30R20 will fit on the front 10" wheel, no problem. As far as performance? Eh, I can supply comments of others thoughts (opinions) on potential gains, but it's honestly not going to provide anything more clear than what you can gather right now - which is you will probably lose a bit of steering response and maybe gain a little grip. The 285 GY SC3 already runs a touch on the wide side of a 285...
Honestly, I have been thinking of trying the 295/30 up front, and was going to do it this summer, but my track season was cut a bit and didn't get around to using up my front 285/30 tires to needing replacement... I'm not sure if I will end up trying that out as I feel the 285/30's in the SC3 up front do a pretty good job. In my experience, on an SS 1LE, there is something to be gained to tidying-down the rear a bit over upping tire width on a 10" wheel. Something I'm beginning to find as I push the car more from 9/10ths to my 10/10ths. |

I just installed 295/30/20's on the front of my 1LE. You can see a little bit of tire bulge, but it's not bad at all. I only did it because I got a crazy deal on Bridgestone S007A's.

On the SC3s, the OEM size is made specifically for the Camaros, I think the other sizes are likely a different compound that will be softer and warm up faster, prolly not last as long. Better for autox, cooler temps, etc. OEM SC3s love the heat, seems very difficult to get them too hot and it takes a while to warm them up.

I’m running 295s up front for about 1 year now and love it.

I am running 295/35/19 on 10.5” wheels all around.
It’s a very nice setup. I moved from SS sizes not 1LE. But the steering feel and response is very good. Grip is quite good as well. |

No pics yet. I'm just daily driving it and it's fine. I'm supposed to go to a HPDE at the end of Feb.
