Rear Brake Cooling
I've thought about trying to install the stock non-track front air deflectors onto the rear control arms to improve brake cooling, but haven't done it. Just came across this article showing the C8 Z51s add on track rear brake scoops. https://www.hotrod.com/articles/did-...-prep-for-c8s/
Do want, now if I could only find the part number. |

Interesting idea, for sure. Have you actually found a need? The rears seem to do “OK” to me. Maybe a modified rotor shield?

Edit: I've already modified my rear rotor shield and cut away everywhere it's not beside a suspension bushing. Quote:

Speculation here:
If it says 'discontinued', it most likely has gone through an engineering change and there is a new part number. The C8 is very new and things like this will occur. Call your favorite dealer parts guy and ask for those numbers & he should be able to see the new number or tell you if they are currently on hold. His system is much better than mine. Due to the COVID 19 mess, i have only driven the 6th gen one track weekend so I don't know how much the stabilitrak uses the rear brakes. I would think that additional cooling couldn't hurt

Turn that stabilitrak off as soon as you are comfortable with tracking the car as it does use the rear brakes. Lucky that you have gotten out once this year, I haven't been able to get out yet. |

If you find the number, share it.
THEN show how you mounted it to the camaro :-)

Edit: it does say some trimming required farther down on the site. Last edited by That1guy_tim; 05-11-2020 at 09:18 PM. Reason: new info |
