For a lot of people, Continential is THE best at all season tires. I really love their ExtremeContact Sport tires, but they're not all seasons.

I just put the new plus on my ZL1 and a world of difference they seem to ride better and hold the road only 200 miles so we will see after awhile how good they are.

I don't know what everybody else is talking about..... Mine came with Continentals (I have an Aussie RHD ZL1. The SC3s are not legal there. To import they had to switch to contis). Maybe the ones you're looking at are a new different line. But mine are crap in the grip department. They can't hook to anything asphalt, only cement. On Asphalt, I lose traction in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and sometimes 5th. I wouldn't wish these on my drag rival. As for comfort they're very comfortable. But hooking up is a joke. As soon as these get close to wearing out, I'm on the Michelins PSC2s or the Toyos 888s, probably the former as I heard the Toyos transfer too much road noise.

Yep, the R888Rs sound like a monster truck, my friend. I've heard that the new Nitto 555R-II is much quieter and hooks very well.

The loss of traction in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and sometimes 5th happens to me also, I have the Michelin’s PS4S. The car just overpowers them sometimes and road temperature and asphalt material play a big part in how well they hold the power. I miss my SC3rs on dry warm pavement.

Let's keep things in perspective, you're talking apples and oranges. If someone is looking to buy all season tires, its because they need to be able to drive in all types of weather. Of course an all season isn't going to grip like a summer tire, or a drag radial or a competition road race tire. If the OP needs that type of traction, he shouldn't be considering an all season tire.

I get that (All-season), but he was asking about grip, and I'm letting him know just how well they grip (or the lack thereof for me). If he gets the same type as mine, he shouldn't plan on anymore than about 2/3rds throttle in 1-4 on asphalt after approximately 1000 miles, or else the tires will be turning much faster than he's moving

Does the 555r2 hook much better than the conti ECS tires from a dig and slow rolls on the street?

Yes, the Nitto 555R2 is a drag radial, the rubber is much softer than any street tire, downside is that it wears much quicker. Always a tradeoff.

I just purchased a new to me, used 2020 ZL1 Vert, and I had the dealer put the Conti ExtremeContact Sports on. It will be my DD 8 months out of the year, and a trusted Camaro friend recommended them.

To be honest, due to the weather I still haven’t driven them. They look nice though. Anyone looking for the Goodyear takeoffs, with 6,300 miles, PM me.

OP
I had several sets of the DWS 06 and one set of the Plus tires on my 5th gen for street tires. They were excellent in the rain and cold, they even did ok in light snow.
It is great news that they now make them in the 30 series for the ZL1. When I wear out the contact sports, I'll go back to the DWS Plus for street tires
