Solid Performance shop in Tampa / St. Pete area
New here a C7 transplant. I really want to align myself with a decent performance shop that can do drops and wheels and other tweaks ?
I would really appreciate it ...thanks |

If PowerTech is the yellow building on 118th Ave in St Pete, run like hell. Had 1 friend and 1 family member lose dearly because they went there. Want to never see or hear from your vehicle for months? Go there. Want to deliver a built motor and turbo kit for your truck only to have them claim the turbo gave during dyno and get your motor back with different internals and a chinese knockoff turbo that looks undamaged? Go there.
Matt @ FSP is from NJ and came down to work at RX Performance in Bradenton. RX doesn't just sucker customers, but also employees. The owner can't even buy a dyno in his own name, so he gets out of state guys to come work for him to use their name to get equipment. Matt wised up and got out of there to start his own shop nearby. His dedication to customers has kept him slammed. Recently others have said it is hard to get a hold of them on the phone. As much work as they have now, your best bet is an email or IM on here plus wait a day or two for a response, he will get back to you. I don't even know if he can take in new work right now. You'll probably need to schedule up for a later month so your car isn't sitting in line. Tampa Tuning is one guy. He was active on Camaro5 for quite a while and I don't recall him ever getting a bad review or word said about him. He's independent and works out of another shop for dyno access, if I remember it right. He also teaches tuning on HP Tuners to those that register for training. If you wanted someone to help you get into doing things yourself, he would probably be one of the resources you'd want to have. Never had a Corvette, so I cannot speak about AntiVenom. Never heard of them. I've actually been to the Tire Kingdom next door to Erwin Automotive (actual name on the shop). Looking at their site, they are C4/C5/C6 LSX specialists and have rarely worked on a 2010 Camaro & 2005 GTO. Also, if the OP is looking at drops/wheels/etc, he should go to BMR Suspension directly. They are in Seffner and a highly rated vendor and supplier to other vendors here on these websites. I'm pretty sure they do some local work and would love to get their hands on more 6g Camaros. |

Look up Fat Body Performance on FB!!! Kyle (who also works at BMR Suspension) owns/operates his own shop. Great guy, fair pricing, and extremely knowledgeable about anything related to LS or LT platforms!!!
As mentioned above, Phil Aprea of Tampa Tuning is a great resource for your tuning needs. I know that Kyle has worked directly with Phil for some of his past customers...like me! |
