Anyone cut off the…
The performance 1LE suitcase muffler? And leave it as? Hate the muffler and really unwilling to pay major cash for an axle back do it myself. Pros and cons. Not a daily just a weekend warrior. Thanks peeps.

Some people like the muffler delete sound but personally I dont think it sounds very good.
I would suggest instead of taking out a second mortgage for an axle back just pick up some Carven or Blackwidow mufflers and have a shop chop the muffler out and weld you up those with some nice tips. I would be waaaay cheaper. Or you could do what I did and paint the "suitcase" black. Its virtually invisible now. |

Its a matter of taste, but a pure muffler delete sounds like pure ass to me. No tone, just dump truck noise. At least invest in some decent mufflers, your camaro deserves that much.

I like the basic muffler delete of my MBRP I was really quiet hesistant about what the volume would be, it's quite loud but I thought it'd be louder. MBRP axle back is about as low cost price point as you can get. THere's almost no reason to go cat back, or pay more unless you're building out your car etc etc

I dislike the look of the suitcase… but not enough to pay for what I want (AWE Touring).
I’ve thought about grabbing some brushable paint like POR-15 High Temperature, High Heat Flat Black. It’s about $27 on Amazon. Haven’t decided yet, it would definitely blend better than the silver, that for sure. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=607506 |

Personally, cutting off the muffler is too loud and the drone would be killer on a highway cruise. I would not suggest it, but to each their own.
If budget is something you are keeping in mind. Check out the MBRP Axle-Back systems, they are fairly inexpensive and are easy to install. The drone wont kill ya on the highway and it is a fairly still loud exhaust. Thank you, Ricardo |
