That video is exactally what my issue is. You ever get an answer back yet?

I just bought my first camaro on Wednesday- (2017 50th) and I have seen this issue twice already. Yesterday, I noticed it after starting with key fob, getting in the car and the HVAC dialogues on the screen were just gray boxes. The driving mode section was missing as well. It didn't come back after I shut it down and started again either. Today, I tried to reproduce with video, but everything worked well. I agree with others who have said this is a timing issue. Today, I waited a few seconds before pushing the engine start button, long enough to see the animation on the cid. Yesterday, I probably pushed the button as soon as I sat down. Wondering if that makes a difference?

Took mine to the dealer, and it magically worked just in time to make me look stupid... Now it's gone again... Looks like GM needs to provide a software update to me...

Good Morning Ghettobreeze,

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this concern in your Impala! Please keep in mind, the dealership is limited in the assistance they're able to offer unless the intermittent concern can indeed be physically duplicated.

If you do decide to bring this back to the dealer, please feel free to reach out. We're always happy to help!

Kindly,

Angela O.

If you return and enter through the driver door maybe 1-2 minutes later and start the vehicle everything in the vehicle wakes up. It's a software anomaly when certain modules start to go to sleep and then wake up again. You can probably replicate it if you follow those steps. Happened to me once also.

It will fix itself at the next ignition cycle (if the vehicle goes to sleep).

This is exactly what is going on here for everyone.

I plan to try these reset instructions next time it happens...
  1. Turn the vehicle on
  2. Open the CUE faceplate, thereby exposing the storage area behind it
  3. With the faceplate up, turn off the vehicle
  4. Open the driver’s side door
  5. Wait 30-60 seconds with the driver’s side door open
  6. Close the door and start the vehicle
  7. Lower the faceplate

My issue was with an impala that had the same problem. I found that hard reset procedure on a Cadillac site. So I would imagine that Camaros have a similar hard reset procedure. If anyone can find it, it may be the key to fixing this issue once and for all...
